District officials are asking voters for their say on whether or not they will approve the bond, which the district states will expand and renovate the district’s elementary schools and Tenino Middle School, as well as provide essential securi- ty upgrades, increased technol- ogy capacity and new roofing systems as well. New student drop-off and pick-up areas, as well as a new gymnasium at Tenino High School, are also included in the proposal. The majority of voters, 56.8 percent to be exact, approved of the measure in the Feb. 11 election; however, that total fell short of the 60 percent su- permajority required for it to pass. Lieber Title: House of Cards Advisor: Sheila Schroeder Degree Date: November 2013 Abstract The purpose of this thesis is to approach adapting a comic book into a film in a unique way. With so many comic-to-film adaptations following the trends of action movies, my goal was to adapt the popular comic book, Batman, into a screenplay that is not an action film. The screenplay, House of Cards, follows the original character of Miranda Greene as she attempts to understand insanity in Gotham’s most famous criminal, the Joker. The research for this project includes a detailed look at the comic book’s publication history, as well as previous film adaptations of Batman, and Batman in other relevant media.

To compensate for this apparent injustice, Kommersant Vlast analytical weekly has compiled The Entire Russian Fleet directory. It is especially topical since even Russia’s Commander-in-Chief compared himself to a slave on the galleys a week ago. The directory lists all 238 battle ships and submarines of Russia’s Naval Fleet, with their board numbers, year of entering service, name and rank of their commanders. It also contains the data telling to which unit a ship or a submarine belongs. For first-class ships, there are schemes and tactic-technical characteristics. So detailed data on all Russian Navy vessels, from missile cruisers to base type trawlers, is for the first time compiled in one directory, making it unique in the range and amount of information it covers. The Entire Russian Fleet carries on the series of publications devoted to Russia’s armed forces. Vlast has already published similar directories about the Russian Army (#17-18 in 2002, #18 in 2003, and #7 in 2005) and Russia’s military bases (#19 in 2007).

In addition the Central Area‟s development was not part of a unified real state scheme with coordinated public improvements (such as the Mount Baker community). For these reasons, it has never had official boundaries and various writers describe its extent in various ways. Almost all attempts to describe the neighborhood include a core area bounded by Madison Street on the north, Jackson Street on the south, 15th Avenue on the west, and Martin Luther King, Jr. Way (formerly Empire Way) on the east. In 1975, Nyberg and Steinbrueck identified the eastern boundary of the Central Area as 30th Avenue (more or less), and also included extensions to the north and south of the core area. The extension to the south of Jackson Street was bounded by 30th Avenue (approximately) on the east, Interstate 90 on the south, and the mid-block alley just east of Rainier Avenue South on the west. The extension to the north of Madison Street was bounded on the west by 23rd Avenue, on the east by the Washington Park Arboretum, and extended north to a line just north of East Helen Street marking the boundary between the plats known as the Madison Park Addition and the Hazelwood Addition Supplemental.1 Walt Crowley describes the neighborhood as a “sprawling residential district .

Ross Futurehit.DNA How The Digital Revolution Is Changing Top 10 Songs by Jay Frank Published by Futurehit, Inc. ©2009 Jay Frank, currently SVP of Music Strategy for CMT has sat in a number of musical gatekeeper chairs and always been somewhat outspoken, especially about the interaction between music and technology. So industry observers should not feign shock to see him don the scribe cap and set about inking his thoughts. Jay Frank Considering the author's digital expertise, it is not surprising that the book has its own website with complete details about where to purchase, social networking accounts and even a free first chapter. http://www.futurehitdna.com. The premise of Futurehit.dna is that by carefully monitoring consumer behavior and the technology surrounding the music, one can improve the odds that new music will be discovered and be successful. "Musicians are generally looking for a balance between art and commerce," Frank writes, "and for that this book becomes an important guide." However, he wisely warns, "Implementing these points will do you no good unless the underlying talent and quality is already there." Those looking for a quick, easy read and a fast solution are likely to be disappointed. The author's zeal for thorough explanations creates an ambitious study rich in historical details. Frank's intro begins with songs sung around a ©2009, MusicRow Communications, LLC—ALL RIGHTS RESERVED [email protected] page 2 Friday, October 30, 2009 campfire (no technology) and works his way through a Versions Of Hit Songs."
