INVESTMENT HIGHLIGHTS

•ENTERPRISE SEGMENT CONTINUES TO GROW: Enterprise security represented 42% of total sales and grew 26% from Dec-01. Sales of management products grew 20%, firewall/VPN grew 49% and antivirus grew 25% from Dec-01. Intrusion detection grew 35% sequentially. • SERVICES BUSINESS CONTINUES TO SHOW STRENGTH: Services accounts for 2% of total sales and grew 205% from Dec-01. Managed Security Services offerings grew 1,078% year-over-year. • RECORD DEALS: Symantec reported a total of 215 deals over $100,000, 59 deals over $300,000 and 8 deals over seven figures this quarter. • STRONG CONSUMER BUSINESS: Our consumer segment grew 40% year-over-year and contributed 42% of total revenue. Consumer antivirus grew an impressive 61% over Dec-01. Sales of Internet Security grew 112% from Dec-01. •SOLID REGIONAL GROWTH: International contributed 50% to total sales. Latin America grew 51%, EMEA grew 46%, Japan grew 31%, and Asia Pacific grew 28% over Dec-01. This is the first quarter international sales have exceeded US sales. •STRONG BALANCE SHEET: Cash and restricted cash totaled $1.5B. Deferred revenue increased by $110M from last quarter to $538M.

Jul 1999 URLabs Acquired URLabs, a leader in Internet access control and content scanning. Products include I-Gear (URL filtering) and Mail-Gear (e-mail scanning). Sep 1998 Intel Corporation Purchased Intel Coporation’s antivirus business, licensed Intel’s systems management technology and acquired Intel’s existing antivirus customers.
