    TIOBRAID ÁRANN Premier Plan: Towards 2020 Réamhrá It is an honour and a privilege for me to introduce the Co Tipperary GAA Strategic Plan for 2018-2020. The original Strategic Plan, which was launched in 2011, was an extensive document and a substantial number of goals in that document have been successfully implemented in the intervening years. This follow-on plan deals with issues most relevant to our Association in the County as we approach the end of the second decade of the 21st century. The County Chairman, Michael Bourke asked the County Development Committee in September 2016, to form a task force with a view to compiling a new Plan for the years 2018-2020. At our initial meeting, it was agreed that at the outset we needed to get the views of all the stakeholders in the County and to establish what were the issues, what were we doing well and where could we improve. In previous years this would probably involve asking all parties interested in the welfare of the GAA in Tipperary to attend a meeting or meetings, where views would be sourced. Inevitably, these meetings would attract relatively small attendances, particularly in the under 35 age category. It was decided that we would use modern technology in the form of an Online Survey as a means of ensuring that the views received would reflect the opinions of the overall GAA community in Tipperary. Using this method, we targeted Players (adult and juvenile), Club Officers (adult and juvenile clubs) and the wider GAA public and used Divisional and County Conventions, County Board meetings and the Media to spread the word.

It is a privilege to present my ninth report to Tipperary County Convention. 2015 was so full of promise being so near and yet so far away and could have easily turned out a great year. After a bad start losing the Waterford Crystal and League first round our Senior Hurlers had four very impressive League wins on the trot to qualify for the League play-offs. A most disappointing one point loss to Waterford in the League Semi was put aside as we overcame our bogey team Limerick in the Munster Championship with a sixteen point victory in their own Gaelic Grounds. This was followed up with a Munster Final win over Waterford and momentum was building towards an All Ireland Final.

    Cumann Lúthchleas Gael Coiste Chontae Thiobrad Arann Laochra Gael 13th PRESENTATIONS by Iar-Uachtarán Liam Ó Néill at The Dome, Semple Stadium November 15th, 2015 ag tosnú 16.30pm 1 Cumann na Sean Ghael - Coiste Chontae Thiobrad Arann INAUGURAL MEETING Thurles, April 23th, 2003 he inaugural meeting of Cumann na Sean Ghael, Coiste Chontae Thiobrad Arann, was held in Hayes’s Hotel, Thurles on April 23, 2003. The attendance included John Moloney, Noel Morris, John Costigan, Pat Moroney, Seamus J., King and Michael TO’Meara. Seamus McCarthy was unable to be present. At the outset John Moloney was unanimously appointed chairman amd Michael O’Meara secretary. The chairman outlined the aims of the group, which were chiefly to honour annually persons over 70 years of age, who had given significant service to the G.A.A. in whatever capacity - player, official, groundsman, jersey carrier, tea maker, referee, umpire, etc. A sample of a framed certificate, which was presented annually in Dublin, was shown by the chairman to the meeting and the secretary undertook to get quotations for same. It was agreed that approximately 40 annual presentations would be made, i.e. an average of 10 per division. The consensus was that the general public should be asked to nominate suitable persons and justify why they were considered worthy. It was agreed that the presentations would be made in Brú Ború, Cashel on November 16th or 23rd and that the evening’s programme would consist of a chat, light refreshments and entertainment before the presentations. It was also agreed that the wives of the recipients be invited to the presentations.
