INVITATION TO: World ParaVolley Member Nations, NPCs, and Volleyball Federations

World ParaVolley and ParaVolley Asia Oceania, with the close cooperation of the Korean Organization of Volleyball for Disabled (KOVAD) and the Jeju Volleyball Association for the Disabled (JVAD), are pleased to announce the above mentioned courses.

Course Details TRAVEL DATES: Arrival: Friday, March 23rd, 2018 (please arrive before 14h00) Departure: Wednesday, March 28th, 2018 AFTER 15h00 (any participants wishing to stay after the 28th must do so at their own cost) Location: Jeju City, (See important travel information on the next page about travel through or direct to Jeju City) Instructors: Classification Course: Ms. Jurate Kesiene & Ms. Jenni Cole Coach Course: Mr. Steve Jones & Mr. Weiping Tu

Financial Obligations The costs of transportation (home to Jeju City and return), course and registration fees, accommodation and meals, and visa are paid by the participants or by their respective National Paralympic Committee or National Federation.

Subsidies: Thanks to support from the Agitos Foundation, World ParaVolley, KOVAD and JVAD, the following subsidies have been made available to the participants: 1) An ACCOMMODATION / MEALS subsidy of Eur 180 and a minimum TRAVEL SUBSIDY of up to Eur 200 (depending on nation of origin) will be available to: - the first 8 participants to register in the classification course. - the first 12 participants to participate in the coaching course. A subsidy may or may not be available to any additional participants above these limits.

LOC Course Fee Eur 290 per participant to be paid to Jeju Volleyball Association for Disabled (SHARED ROOM) Includes: Accommodation (Nights of March 23, 24, 25, 26, and 27 only); all meals; all local Includes A/M subsidy transport; course materials; and instruction by certified World ParaVolley course tutors.

LOC Course Fee Eur 455 per participant to be paid to Jeju Volleyball Association for Disabled (SINGLE ROOM) Includes: Accommodation (Nights of March 23, 24, 25, 26, and 27 only); all meals; all local Includes A/M subsidy transport; course materials; and instruction by certified World ParaVolley course tutors.

Participants are strongly encouraged to register early due to the SPECIAL FEE FOR THIS COURSE!!!

Registration Requirements Procedure: Registration should be made through the nation’s World ParaVolley member organization, NPC, or National Volleyball Federation, using the official form.

Participants’ Qualification: Please see the below Course Outlines for qualification information.

Language of Instruction: English: It is highly recommended that all Candidates be able to converse in, and read and write basic English.

1. The LOC COURSE FEE (Eur 290 or Eur 455) is to be paid in full before 16 February 2018.

Airport arrival: Jeju International Airport Please note that the Local Organising Committee suggest entering Jeju International Airport directly from another country and avoid entering via Incheon International Airport. Traveling via Seoul/Incheon is possible, but you must transfer by bus or train from Incheon to Domestic Airport, which is 30 kms away. A member of the Local Organising Committee will meet you at Jeju International Airport.

If you travel through Seoul Incheon, you MAY require a Visa for South Korea. Please consider this when booking your flight. Information about Nations that require visas can be found here: https://english.visitkorea.or.kr/enu/TRV/TV_ENG_2_1.jsp

3. Any Visa requirement and its payment is the responsibility of the candidate and/or his/her National Governing Body.

4. Travel Subsidy Eligibility: To be eligible for the Travel Subsidy the participant and/or the sponsoring Federation must communicate directly with the World ParaVolley General Manager at: [email protected]

5. Candidates are advised to ensure that they have their own personal travel and health insurance and have had any vaccinations required by/for the host country. Insurance should include repatriation (transport home) in case of serious illness.

6. World ParaVolley / KOVAD / JVAD reserve the right to limit the numbers of participants in any of the Courses: - The Classification Course has a maximum of 8 participants; - The Coach Course has a minimum of 6 participants and a maximum of 16 participants. We will try to include as many countries and participants as possible. Please respect the deadlines that we listed in our information.

7. World ParaVolley / KOVAD / JVAD reserve the right to cancel any of the courses if there are not enough registered participants.

COURSE OUTLINES

Level 1 Coaches Course (National and Regional) - Registration Deadline: 16 February 2018

The course is open to anyone who wishes to learn more, and to start on the Coaches Pathway. They need to be committed to applying their knowledge and skills to the development of teams and clubs in their nation. Coaches with previous Volleyball/FIVB experience who wish to become involved in Para Sport will be particularly welcome.

All candidates will be expected to participate in practical sessions. The use of numbered shirts is encouraged. However, candidates should not go to the expense of buying a numbered shirt.

The course will include sessions on the following, but not necessarily in this sequence:  Introduction  Video Session  History and Development of the game  World ParaVolley Coaches Structure and Pathway  Introduction to Classification – Who Can Play?  Basic Rules and Regulations  Let’s Play – Organisation and Observation  Training Principles  Playing Techniques  Exercises and Problem Solving  Practical Exam  Feedback/Evaluation *Candidates will receive either a Level 1 Diploma or a Certificate of Attendance, depending on their performance.

Quota:  Each nation may normally register not more than two (2) candidates (one more in case of a female student). Extra candidates can be registered by agreement with the course organizers.  The organising member nation can register not more than five (5) candidates, unless the course is not full at the registration deadline.  This clinic is planned for a maximum of 16 candidates.

Level 1 Classification Course (National) - Registration Deadline: 16 February, 2018

Candidates must be Nationally-recognised and authorised to practice as a Medical Doctor or Physiotherapist. In the case of a physiotherapist the candidate must have completed a minimum three-year course. Proof of qualification and CV should be forwarded with the Course Registration Form.

On successful completion of the course the candidate will be qualified to provide National level classifications as part of a classification panel at national level events.
