Elections for the Town and Parish Areas in the Dorset Council on 2 May 2019 Rejected Ballot Papers

At an election ballot papers may be rejected and not counted for the following reasons:-

 no official mark on the ballot paper  the voter has voted for more candidates than entitled to  there is writing or a mark on the ballot paper by which the voter could be identified  the ballot paper is unmarked or there is uncertainty about the voter’s intention

These are often known as ‘spoilt’ ballot papers.
