FIRST VIEW OF THE 6 Today’s matchup with the Toronto Marlies is the first all-time meeting between the Heat and the AHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Stockton had only played against Manitoba among its Canadian Division counterparts coming into the season, going 5-7-0-0 against the Moose all-time. HOME SWEET ‘DOME Due to cross-border travel complications caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Heat announced on January 28 that they would be relocating for the 2020-21 season to the Scotiabank Saddledome, home of the club’s NHL affiliate the Calgary Flames. OUT OF THE GATE The Heat have made a habit of starting the year on a sweet note, winners of four of the team’s five all-time season openers. Last season, Stockton earned a 5-2 decision over Colorado. All-time in home openers, Stockton is 4-0-1-0, the lone setback coming on October 6, 2018 - a 6-5 overtime loss against Ontario. CAN’T BEAT FIRST The Heat excelled on special teams in the 2019-20 season, finishing the campaign ranked first in the AHL both on the power play (25.6-percent) and penalty kill (87.6-percent). Stockton was the first team since Hershey in 2009-10 to accomplish that feat. MEDIA INQUIRIES: BRANDON WEISS, [email protected] STOCKTON HEAT HOCKEY CLUB 2021 GAME BY GAME Gm.
