    The Directors UK TV Fiction Committee Member biographies September 2018 Bill Anderson After combining TV writing commissions with two years as a roustabout on the Fulmar Alpha North Sea oil-rig, I left Aberdeen and took the NFTS directing course. Credits include workplace dramas The Mill, Mr Selfridge and Dockers (BAFTA and RTS nominated, written by sixteen striking Liverpool dockers, Irvine Welsh and Jimmy McGovern, executive produced by the striking Liverpool port stewards); historical epics Sword of Honour with Daniel Craig and Boudica with Alex Kingston; and politically dystopian Fields of Gold and Last Rights. Helming the pilot of Lewis brought on a rash of detectives: DCI Banks, Taggart, George Gently, and Case Histories. Guardians, which I also wrote, was nominated for RTS best single drama and the Prix Italia. Most recently I’ve served time on Doctor Who. As such, historical novels have always revealed as much about the socio-political context of their moment of production as they do about their historical settings. The advent of feminism was among the most significant movements which shaped the evolution of the women’s historical novel in the twentieth century, prompting as it did a radical shift in historiographic methodology. As feminist discourse became embedded in popular culture in the latter decades of the twentieth century, this shift in turn allowed authors of historical fiction the opportunity to reconsider the ways in which women have been traditionally represented in both historical narrative and fiction.

Novel ini diadaptasi berdasarkan kisah nyata kerajaan Inggris pada jaman Tudor. The Boleyn Inheritance bercerita tentang tiga wanita bangsawan yang hidup pada masa pemerintahan Raja enry VIII. Seorang raja yang terkenal pada masa dinasti Tudor karena kebijakan politik serta kehidupan pribadinya yang fenomenal. Raja enry VIII adalah raja Inggris yang pernah memiliki enam ratu, dua diantaranya meninggal karena dihukum mati oleh raja enry VIII sendiri. Novel ini tidak hanya bercerita tentang kehidupan pribadi raja enry VIII tetapi juga bercerita tentang kebijakan politik, hukum, kebudayaan serta fenomena-fenomena yang terjadi pada masa pemerintahan raja enry VIII. The Boleyn Inheritance juga banyak menyinggung serta mengangkat isu tentang hak perempuan serta hubungannya dengan dominasi laki-laki. Dalam final project ini penulis berusaha menganalisis novel ini dengan memaparkan kelebihan dan kekurangan yang terdapat dalam buku ini melalui unsur-unsur intrinstik yang ada dalam novel ini seperti tema, alur cerita, setting, karakter serta gaya penulisan sehingga dapat menjadi referensi sebelum membacanya. 1.
