ACADEMICALLY EXCELLENT Nyack seeks to exalt Jesus Christ and fulfill its GLOBALLY ENGAGED mission through its core values of academic INTENTIONALLY DIVERSE excellence, global engagement, intentional PERSONALLY TRANSFORMING diversity, personal transformation, and social SOCIALLY RELEVANT relevance. Our professors care equally about your character and your career goals. “ As professors, we’re all committed to our students—dealing not only with their academics, but also with their spirituality. We’re speaking into our students’ lives and enabling them to do great things when they move on. That’s priceless. I can’t thank God enough for that opportunity.” Dr. Jacqueline Washington Professor of Biology; Chair of Biology, Chemistry, and Pre-Med Programs -4- ACADEMICALLY EXCELLENT At Nyack, you’ll have access to a comprehensive list of course offerings and accomplished professors who care equally about your intellectual and spiritual growth. Our professors are exceptional and reflect the diversity of our student body. Eighty-two percent of our faculty members have a doctorate or terminal degree. Of our Ph.D. faculty, forty-six percent are female and forty- seven percent are people of color. “ The program itself, academically, was excellent. When I came out of Nyack, I was better prepared than most. So many people from other schools have said to me, ‘What program did you go to, because I did not learn the things you learned.’ This is a professional program. It’s rigorous. It’s disciplined. FACULTY STATS When you go out into the workforce, you will stand out, because your education provided a dimension that other schools don’t— compassion and spirituality in addition to academic excellence.” Joanne McCarthy Class of 2010 GLOBALLY ENGAGED Whether you study at our New York City or our Rockland County campus, by attending Nyack College or Alliance Theological Seminary, you will have the opportunity to impact the world. Don’t just read about missions, participate and make a difference. “ One of my favorite courses is Global Service-Learning, which is designed for undergraduate, graduate, and seminary students. They’re life-changing experiences. I’ve taken people to Paris and Austria— to Cuba, Thailand, Kenya, and Geneva. In Honduras, our students work for a pastors’ conference, a communIty outreach, a women’s conference, and a youth conference. I also bring a small medical team. We do a lot of home visitations in order to bring medicine and do as much medical care and evangelism as possible.” Dr. Elaine Eng Associate Professor of Mental Health Counseling 40+ DESTINATIONS IN 10 YEARS AUSTRIA HAITI PHILIPPINES BELGIUM HONG KONG PUERTO RICO BOTSWANA HUNGARY QATAR CAMBODIA INDIA SOUTH AFRICA CHINA IRELAND SPAIN COSTA RICA ISRAEL SWAZILAND CUBA ITALY SWITZERLAND DOMINICAN JAPAN TAIWAN REPUBLIC MEXICO THAILAND ECUADOR MOZAMBIQUE TURKEY EGYPT NAMIBIA UNITED ARAB EL SALVADOR NEPAL EMIRATES FRANCE NETHERLANDS UNITED KINGDOM GERMANY NICARAGUA ZIMBABWE GREECE PALESTINE INTENTIONALLY DIVERSE At Nyack, diversity isn’t a cliché; it’s a core value.
