Information from the heristic scans is compiled by an antivirus provider and an update of the database signiture virus is done ... So although he hasn't detected it before, the antivirus is starting to detect it... Also note that the panbuster itself is regularly updated, so that antivirus programs can not be aware of punkbusterpeople updates to complain/raise questions with antivirus vendors regarding the program and the antivirus maker then checks for false positives ... but virus makers are smart, they know the problem, so they try to hide their viral programs to look like a false positive, so the antivirus company decides to let the pop-up inform the user and thus allows the user to solve... As a note: many of you clearly do not have antivirus tuned in to report postiives to your antivirus provider, as shown here (avira.com) there are only one or two people reporting this particular virus daily... If you have a problem, then contact as an antivirus provider and provide them with a copy of the punkbuster files in your system as well, contact www.evenbalance.com (creators of the puinkbuster) and fill out a ticket for support if you are not satisfied with what information is on their site, such as the following, to your liking ... evenbalance.com Since the new components have been installed, I now get kicked off PunkBuster servers for a failed handshake or losing key packages, how can I fix it? Some others programs such as virus scanners, firewalls, and Internet security software packages are suspicious of any new services and kernel drivers when they are first released. This activity triggers warnings or blocks of some other security programs, some of which treat all unknown programs as threats or malware. Our new components are simply extensions of the existing PunkBuster system using new services and core software drivers, and each one is signed with Verisign/Authenticode digital signatures for verifiable authentication purposes. Several other sources were analyzed to gather information concerning the gaming industry trends. The research was done as a qualitative desktop study. In conclusion of the gathered information, EAC is a strong competitor in the anti- cheat market. New technologies keep the industry alive and the revenues continue rising each year.
