essica Davos, in her eighth season with UAlbany, was named Interim Head Coach in January 2018. She Jprevously had spent two years as Associated Head Coach after six years as the team’s first assistant.

In 2017, with Davos in her first season as the team’s asso- ciate head coach, the Great Danes earned a top-10 victory over Cornell and the program’s second at-large berth into the NCAA Tournament, finishing 12-6 overall with a berth in the America East title game. UAlbany’s defensive team captains, Sierra McIver and Andrea Flood, each earned America East All-Conference honors while goalkeeper Erin Leghart was placed on the league’s all-rookie team.

In 2016, Davos’s defense ranked fifth in Division I in scoring defense, allowing 6.94 goals per game and allowing double digit goals in just four of UAlbany’s 17 games. ABOUT UALBANY ATHLETICS

UAlbany is a member of the America East Conference in 16 of 18 varsity sports, while women’s golf is an associate member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), and football, a Division I FCS program, is an associate member of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA). UAlbany has earned the Stuart P. Haskell Jr. Commissioner’s Cup for five consecutive years and six times overall.

UAlbany has won 103 conference championships and has made 48 NCAA Tournament appearances since moving to Division I in 1999. UAlbany won its 100th conference title on May 14, 2017, with softball taking the America East Tournament. Going into the 2017-18 school year, UAlbany has won 93 America East Tournament championships, six (NEC) season titles in football and one MAAC title in women’s golf.

During the 2016-17 school year, UAlbany earned an America East-record nine championships: men’s and women’s soccer; women’s ; men’s and women’s indoor track and field; men’s lacrosse and softball. Men’s soccer and men’s lacrosse each won NCAA Tournament games to lead UAlbany to finish No. 40 nationally in the 2016-17 Capital One Cup. Women’s basketball won a conference record sixth consecutive America East Tournament, the longest such streak for any basketball team in the league.

Throughout its Division I history, UAlbany has had 14 players selected in the Draft and nine players drafted by Major League . Fourteen football players have inked NFL contracts.
