Training is being continued daily in the evening from 4 pm by professional Coach. This is aiming at making professional football players from the area. Commemoration of Dada Asiimanandaji 2nd April: Six - hours "BABA NAMA KEVALAMA" Kiirtan was organised from 6 am to 12 noon today to commemorate the brutal murder of Acarya Asiimananda Avadhuta with four other Ananda Margiis (Radhu Gorain, Chitmu village, Arjun Singh & Dara Singh of Kosangi village of Ananda Nagar and Dinabandhu Singh, Uttar Pradesh) by communist goons in Chatka village on 2 April 1990. At the end of the Kiirtan, collective Iishvara Pranidhan, flower offerings with the remembrance of the martyrs and Narayana Seva were done. On this occasion Acarya Narayanananda Avadhuta, Avadhutika Ananda Karuna Acarya, Acarya Kalyaneshvarananda Avadhuta and local Ananda Margii Shri Satyanarayana Naik, a resident of Dimdiha village explained the observance. Some Dadas, Didis and Margiis visited the check dam initiated by Acarya Asiimananda Avadhuta under the guidance of Baba. Page 2 of 8 Commemoration of Radhu Soren 5th April: Shri Radhu Soren, an ideologue, social reformer, honest and fearless Anandamargi of Damrughutu village of Ananda Nagar, on his way to Damrughutu village from Kotshila on April 5, 1995, murdered by some superstitious, divisive, and bad characteristic Communist Party goons. The local Margiis observe "Radhu Saren" Remembrance Day on April 5 every year in Damrughutu village. This year also they observed. On this occasion, a three-hour Akhanda "Baba Nama Kevalama" Kiirtan was performed. At the end of the Kiirtan , collective Iishvara Pranidhan and svadhyaya were done. Acarya Narayanananda Avadhuta, Acarya Kalyaneshvarananda Avadhuta, Avadhutika Ananda Sumita Acarya, Acarya Ravishananda Avadhuta and local resident Rengu Soren, Damrughutu, Chakradhar Kumar, Tatuara , spoke on the occasion. The program ended with Narayan Seva. Page 3 of 8 Preparation of Medicinal Plants Garden Many valuable medicinal plants grow naturally around us and we destroy them unknowingly without knowing how to use them. In this way many medicinal plants have become extinct. Ananda Marga High School has taken initiative to build an herbal garden on the school premises in Ananda Nagar with the following objectives. 1) Collecting medicinal plants that are almost extinct and preventing them from being lost forever. 2) Raise awareness among the general public on the use of medicinal plants. 3) To arouse the public to collect and use the medicinal plants those are found here and there carelessly. 4) To collect the knowledge of the use of various unknown medicinal plants from the common and eminent people of the society in one place and to teach the students about their practical utility. 5) To identify, list and bring into use medicinal plants which are used in the treatment of various diseases. 6) Encouraging the general public to commercialize medicinal plants. 7) To increase the protection of the collective health of the society through continuous awareness and use of natural medicinal plants. 8) To inculcate in the students a love for trees, nature and a neo-humanist education. 9) To raise awareness among the students and the general public about medicinal plants through regular seminars. 10) To assist the government education department and administration in promoting and disseminating this matter in order to maintain good health of the people as well as society. Page 4 of 8 Awareness Meeting for Afforestation 11th April: An awareness meeting on plantation and it’s maintenance was organized at the newly constructed Ananda Marga Farm House at Banshgarh in Ananda Nagar from 10 am to 12 noon under the chairpersonship of Hon'ble Soma Das, Kotshila Forest Range Officer at the initiative of Ananda Marga Pracarak Samgha. About fifty villagers from various nearby villages were present in the meeting. It was discussed at the meeting about a new forest that will be created in 6 to 7 hectares of land in Banshgarh- Maramu area with the joint cooperation of Ananda Marga, local villagers and forest department. Three Hours Akhanda Kiirtana 11th April: For the first time with the initiative of Avdhutika Ananda Anumaya Acarya, a three-hour Akhanda kiirtan of "Baba Nam Kevalam" and Narayan Seva was organized at Shrii Laksman Mahato's residence in Bingdaru village of Ananda Nagar. Page 5 of 8 Boundary Wall Construction There was only one house of Girls Proutist in Ananda Nagar. There was no facility to stay or run an office. There were no boundaries, gates, etc. to protect the women. Avadhutika Ananda Vimoha Acarya, Central Secretary of Girl's Proutist, has started the work of giving a complete overhaul. Boundary construction is underway. Bengali New Year Celebrated 14th April: Bengali New Year (1428 Bangabda) was celebrated at Lower Hostel (High School Hostel) with three-hour Akhanda Kiirtan of the "Baba Nam Kevalam" and the meaning of celebrating New Year was explained. Program ends with collective meal. Page 6 of 8 Shraddhanjalii 26th April: The Shraddhanjalii of late Mrs. Upasi Garain, mother of Gaur Garain, a resident of Chitmu Namopara, Ananda Nagar, was held as per Ananda Marga Social Conduct rules of Caryacarya. On this occasion, collective Iishvar Pranidhana , (Prabhat Sangeet, Sadhana, Gurupuja and Svadhya) was performed. Avadhutika Anand Sumita Acarya presided over the function. Marriage as Per Ananda Marga Caryacarya 26th April: Two marriages were held, one at Pundag, Ananda Nagar and the other one at Chamardag, Tulin of Jhalda, Purulia as per caryacarya of Ananda Marga. 1) Bride Usha first daughter of Mrs. Sunanda and Umapada Gorain, Pundag Bazar, and bride groom Viveka son of Mrs. Roymani & Gadadhar Gorain, Chitmu Village. The marriage was conducted by Acarya Devatmananda Avadhuta and Avadhutika Ananda Sumita Acarya. Acarya Devatmananda Avadhuta explained the specialty of Ananda Marga marriage system. 2) Bride Mohini 3rd daughter of Mrs. Svarna and Deven Kumar of Chamardag, Tulin, Jhalda, and bridegroom Gagan son of Mrs. Nivarani & Mihir Chandra Kumar of Barorola. The marriage was conducted by Acary Muktananda Avadhuta and Avadhutika Ananda Anumaya Acarya. Acarya Muktananda Avadhuta explained the speciality of Ananda Marga marriage system.
