“The Nitriding and Heat Treatment of Firearms” Tuesday, April 13th, 2021

The AFS Twin Cities Chapter welcomes Vasko Popovsky, PE, Director of Sales and Marketing at Advance Heat Treat Corporation for at virtual meeting “The Nitriding and Heat Treatment of Firearms” on April 13th at 5:00 p.m.

About the Speaker... Vasko is Director of Sales & Marketing at Advanced Heat Treat Corp. He has over 25 years of experience in heat treatment and . Vasko received a Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgical Engineering and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Pittsburgh. He also has a Master of Arts degree in Technology from Kent State University and an MBA from Waynesburg University. Vasko is a licensed Professional Engineer in Wisconsin, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. He has published numerous technical papers and chaired multiple industry committees.

About the Topic... In this semi-technical presentation, we will talk about two pertinent and remarkable topics: metallurgy and guns. Firearms need to perform and operate under often difficult conditions. They can fail in the field due to corrosion, wear, and other causes. Nitriding is one method of preventing such failures. The application of this technology can be extended into other related industries.

Registration... Register online at www.afstwincities.org by Monday, April 12th. A link to sign on to the online meeting platform will be sent to registrants on Monday, April 12th. AFS TWIN CITIES PAGE TWO
