Verizon has deployed or plans to deploy its fiber-to-the-premises network in these areas and intends to provide services over a fiber network infrastructure. Updating our 3 network from copper to fiber benefits our customers because of fiber’s resiliency and reliability, especially in inclement weather. Fiber also provides our customers with expanded capabilities to grow with current bandwidth demands for their home or business. Description of reasonably foreseeable impact(s) of the planned change(s): After the retirement of the copper facilities, Verizon will: (1) no longer offer services over copper facilities; and (2) cease maintaining the copper facilities. To help ensure an orderly transition, Verizon may require customers and interconnecting entities to migrate services off of copper facilities well before the copper retirement implementation date. 4 EXHIBIT A Copper Retirement ID No. 2019‐01‐B‐PA 1. • CULTURAL SIGNIFICANCE ASSESSMENT Introduction the Princes Street Heritage Framework Study Area Comprises a Lo
PRINCES STREET – CULTURAL SIGNIFICANCE ASSESSMENT Introduction The Princes Street Heritage Framework study area comprises a long, section of the city centre extending along the full length of Princes Street, over a single city block and bounded by Rose Street to the north. The site lies within the New Town Conservation Area and the Edinburgh World Heritage Site. The site contains a substantial number of buildings included on the Statutory List of Buildings of Historic or Architectural Interest (14 Category A, 79 Category B, and 11 Category C). The purpose of the Heritage Framework was to better understand the features, details and planned form which give the area its historic character and identity, and to provide a context for its preservation, development and management. The study established the development sequence and form of the surviving James Craig plan, the individual historic structures and the townscape. A more detailed understanding and assessment of the character, quality and comparative cultural significance of individual buildings is now required as a prerequisite to making decisions about the future of the area. Cultural significance refers to the collection of values associated with a place which together identify why it is important. The Burra Charter suggests that ‘Cultural significance is embodied in the place itself, its fabric, setting, use, associations, meanings, records, related places and related objects’. Where decisions are being made about the future of historic buildings, their historic and architectural significance should be adequately assessed. This should form part of the master planning and design process, and the assessment undertaken at the earliest opportunity and before detailed proposals are drawn up for the regeneration.

  • King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes (Sponsored by QIPCO)
King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes (Sponsored by QIPCO) Ascot Racecourse Background Information for the 65th Running Saturday, July 25, 2015 Winners of the Investec Derby going on to the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes (Sponsored by QIPCO) Unbeaten Golden Horn, whose victories this year include the Investec Derby and the Coral-Eclipse, will try to become the 14th Derby winner to go on to success in Ascot’s midsummer highlight, the Group One King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes (Sponsored by QIPCO), in the same year and the first since Galileo in 2001. Britain's premier all-aged 12-furlong contest, worth a boosted £1.215 million this year, takes place at 3.50pm on Saturday, July 25. Golden Horn extended his perfect record to five races on July 4 in the 10-furlong Group One Coral- Eclipse at Sandown Park, beating older opponents for the first time in great style. The three-year-old Cape Cross colt, owned by breeder Anthony Oppenheimer and trained by John Gosden in Newmarket, captured Britain's premier Classic, the Investec Derby, over 12 furlongs at Epsom Downs impressively on June 6 after being supplemented following a runaway Betfred Dante Stakes success at York in May. If successful at Ascot on July 25, Golden Horn would also become the fourth horse capture the Derby, Eclipse and King George in the same year. ËËË Three horses have completed the Derby/Eclipse/King George treble in the same year - Nashwan (1989), Mill Reef (1971) and Tulyar (1952). ËËË The 2001 King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes saw Galileo become the first Derby winner at Epsom Downs to win the Ascot contest since Lammtarra in 1995.

  • Dalrymple Crescent a Snapshot of Victorian Edinburgh
DALRYMPLE CRESCENT A SNAPSHOT OF VICTORIAN EDINBURGH Joanne Lamb ABOUT THE BOOK A cross-section of life in Edinburgh in the 19th century: This book focuses on a street - Dalrymple Crescent - during that fascinating time. Built in the middle of the 19th century, in this one street came to live eminent men in the field of medicine, science and academia, prosperous merchants and lawyers, The Church, which played such a dominant role in lives of the Victorians, was also well represented. Here were large families and single bachelors, marriages, births and deaths, and tragedies - including murder and bankruptcy. Some residents were drawn to the capital by its booming prosperity from all parts of Scotland, while others reflected the Scottish Diaspora. This book tells the story of the building of the Crescent, and of the people who lived there; and puts it in the context of Edinburgh in the latter half of the 19th century COPYRIGHT First published in 2011 by T & J LAMB, 9 Dalrymple Crescent, Edinburgh EH9 2NU www.dcedin.co.uk This digital edition published in 2020 Text copyright © Joanne Lamb 2011 Foreword copyright © Lord Cullen 2011 All rights reserved.
