From the President: Elaine Homan December Greetings! Birthdays It has been warm outside but all the falling leaves definitely tell me it’s Autumn. Also, another reminder is my need for the 4 Daryl Haagenson wool blanket at night to offset the overnight chill. OK, I’m going to enjoy this last month of this season before we get Winter blowing in around 4 Elaine L Homan Christmas time. Why not give them something they do not want?

Life insurance. It is inexpensive for young people, it grows in value and when they are 70 years old looking for chronic care coverage, it will be there in that old policy.

Seriously, a $100,000 whole life policy for a 20-year-old female in good health costs $40 per month or $478 per year and it includes a provision that will provide $2000 per month if she needs chronic illness care. Or, if you want to pay once and be done, $5900 for a $50,000 policy with a $1000 per month chronic care provision.

For that 40-year-old daughter, a $50,000 policy would cost $544 per year.

Is this what they want for Christmas? Probably not but we are grand- parents and we get to do what we want at Christmas. Ho, Ho, Ho.

It’ still a good season for Thanks; not only for our families, our friends, our country, our God, our homes, and all the blessings bestowed upon us. We are also thankful for the peace and joy of this Season! You can practice this prayer and pass it down to your children and grandchildren as a verbal piece of their heritage!

I Jesu navn går vi til bords

Finnish Club

The rental for Saturday, Dec. 2nd is the Finnish Celebration of Independence. This was captured from their State-wide newsletter…very clever picture, indeed! And Tusen Takk for the advertising of our lodge!

Trollheim Lodge enjoys the good nature of the Finns who have rented our hall for many years, and are exemplary renters. We look forward to providing them with space again next December.

Fjellheim Lodge 6-107 is busy this year! Besides this Julebord (see flyer to the left) there is also a Christmas Tea on Dec 2. Alas, I have no room to put that flyer. The deadline for reservations for that tea is Nov. 29th, and this editor will not get the newsletter out until after that date.

My apologies to the lateness of the newsletter to the members of Trollheim, and to the members of Fjellheim for not getting their flyers posted.
