Owens Corning, a company which has been in Irving since 1952 and em- ploys more than 200 locally, recently celebrated two years of being injury-free, a notable accomplishment given the heavy machinery and equipment housed at the factory. The City of Irving and the Chamber helped commemorate the accomplishment with an official proclamation presented at a company cookout. Owens Corning, a manufacturer of insulation, roofing, basement finishing, cul- tured stone and acoustic systems for building and remodeling, plans to continue the streak of safe operations, setting a company record in 2011.
