See the full gallery. Title: Unlike a Virgin 14 Sep Eric tries to make a deal for 2 new clients. Drama does whatever it takes to keep his relationship with Jacqueline. An old flame returns to Vince. This episode is easily the best episode of the entire series of Entourage. The humour is back, we see a more emotional Vinnie Chase, and we finally get rid of Dramas laptop, thank god. It seems E is not as smart as he thinks he is as Vinnie is starting to go to the "Dark Side", i. This is a welcome return to force for the show, considering the pretty poor season 4. I feel that the producers were trying to take one movie at a time per season; this definitely didn't work with Medellin in Season 4 and almost didn't Unlike a Virgin with the Aquaman saga. The new emotions of Vinnie, yes he may have had them before but was never given the chance to show them, are very welcome. I just love the way he is moving to the Ari Gold side of things, the untouchable Vinnie with principles. I'm looking forward to how this plays out, with E after going to the "Anti-Ari" side of things with the new script. Drama was the main person to hold Season 4 together; the humour and the actual amassing acting of Kevin Dillon to actual do the quagmire of acting really bad. The laptop dating situation with Jacqueline was a bit silly. Surely it was advised straight away that this character must be removed. This is one thing I like about the script Unlike a Virgin, if the public don't feel the chemistry with a character, Unlike a Virgin then they are prepared to remove the character and even change it. I always feel I have almost a psychological control over the program. Odiously I don't but the scrip writers Unlike a Virgin do listen Unlike a Virgin it's audience. The main example was Vinnie's Unlike a Virgin friend who stole the Shrek doll. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before they come up with some truly funny stuff for Drama. Turtle is actually getting a bit more involved in the show too, instead of standard one liners, he seems to be moving on with a Unlike a Virgin type of character. I still would like to know what has happened to the daughter of the guy who owns the shop. Ari Gold, at his best, brilliant new one liners. Angrier than ever, nasty, spiteful, I love it. Nothing more to be said here. Emmy award again. Simple decision. E, times are going to get tough for E. I'm sure I'll be able to explain better over the next few episodes when we see where this is going too. Lloyd, my favourite gay person. Funny as ever. Where pray tell is Debi Mazar, why is this brilliantly talented actress and brilliant character not utilised more often in Entourage. Whenever she is on the show she's in it for 2 seconds. They have, however, rarely addressed the question of whether these encounters are mutually desirable or, on the contrary, uninvited and therefore aggressive. For fear of anachronism, the topic of sexual violence has not been commonly pursued in the analyses of monogatari. I argue that not only can the phenomenon of sexual violence be clearly defined in the context of the monogatari genre, by drawing on contemporary feminist theories and philosophical debates, but also that it is easily identifiable within the text of these tales, by virtue of the coherent and cohesive patterns used to represent it. In my analysis of seven monogatari—Taketori, Utsuho, Ochikubo, Genji, Yoru no Nezame, Torikaebaya and Ariake no wakare—I follow the development of the textual representations of sexual violence and analyze them in relation to the role of these tales in supporting or subverting existing gender hierarchies. Finally, I examine the connection between representations of sexual violence and the monogatari genre itself.

Though fictional, one could make the argument that Vincent Chase, the protagonist of H.B.O.'s critically acclaimed series Entourage, underwent this drastic shift as the show progressed. One way of analyzing this possible alteration is through the Discourses that Vince was exposed to as a youth growing up in New York and as an A-list actor in Hollywood.

We didn’t watch when it was running on HBO between 2004-2011, but we got interested when the movie came out last summer. It took us a while to actually get started, but for the last few weeks, we’ve been watching 2-3 episodes most nights. What does that have to do with printing sales? Well, in one of the episodes we watched last night, Ari Gold had this to say about following up on a movie proposal: “That’s what I do. I sell. If you don’t sell it, (a proposal is) just a bunch of chopped up trees with words on them!” The same thing is true of a printing proposal. If you’re not winning as many quotes as you’d like to, part of the reason is probably that you’re not selling hard enough or well enough. Not Selling Let’s get this straight from the start, quoting is not selling. A quote is an offer, and an offer is usually more reactive than proactive. The buyer says: How much would you charge me for this? The quote is your answer. But wait, you say, you asked for the opportunity to quote. I have news for you, that’s not selling either.     PREVIOUSLY ON “Cut the Shitcom”: Meta-television in Entourage, Extras and 30 Rock Toni Pape Introduction The last decade has seen a number of fictional TV series about television and film production. These television shows – including the ones to be analysed here: Entourage, Extras, and 30 Rock – relocate the process of creative revitalization in front of the camera. Meta-television, as I understand it here, then is television about the media industry and, more particularly, about the production and quality of film and television itself.1 The three above-mentioned television programs present contemporary writers, actors, directors, etc. working on movies and television shows. Especially Extras and 30 Rock offer a critical overview of how television formats are produced, and they significantly do so in a period of time during which the working conditions for television-makers have fundamentally changed. In a most general sense, the criticism that these shows purport works on two levels. First, as we will see further on, there is an explicit criticism implied in the way the TV shows at hand present the making of a TV show. Thus, there is for instance Andy Millman, the protagonist of Extras about whom I will have more to say later on, who clearly states his dissatisfaction as a disillusioned actor/writer: ANDY: I wanna do something that I’m proud of. And I won’t be proud of shouting out catch phrases in a stupid wig and funny glasses. […] So basically, I’m not going to prostitute myself anymore or my work, ok? (Extras “Orlando Bloom”, 21’30”) In a very outspoken way, the programs in question take stock of television’s outworn creative standards and its resulting mediocrity.
