MEDIA RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT: Laurie Menekou, (954) 732-0754 (or) [email protected] Wilton Manors Island City Park Preserve will be Closed to the Public August 3 – 21 as it Plays Host to Children’s Adventure Camp Wilton Manors, Florida (July 22, 2015) – Wilton Manors’ Island City Park Preserve, located at 823 NE 28 St., will be the site for summer-time exploration when the City’s Adventure Camp, for children ages 4 to 14, kicks off on August 3, 2015. Island City Park Preserve will be closed to the general public during camp hours, from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., until the camp ends on August 21, 2015. “The Adventure Camp program is perfect for parents looking for a healthy, happy, creative and stimulating atmosphere for their children in the last few weeks of summer,” said Bridgette Pierce, Wilton Manors Leisure Services Department Program and Facility Supervisor. Adventure Camp will offer children an exciting opportunity to explore one of the city’s premier parks, as well as visit local attractions such as the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, Boomers, Miami Seaquarium, Zoo Miami, Lion Country Safari, Monkey Jungle, Jungle Island and many more kid-friendly destinations. “The program is designed to provide a positive and meaningful summer experience for the children,” said Pierce. “We involve the children in group and individual activities that will allow them to grow and develop meaningful skills throughout the program.” The cost for the camp, including trips, is $115 per week or $30 daily for Wilton Manors residents and $145 per week or $35 daily for non-residents. Discounts are available for the second or third child registered. Registration is ongoing until full. A one-time registration fee of $40 is required, but the fee is waived for children who were enrolled in Island City Summer Camp.
