ANNUAL REPORT 2017-18 The Stampeders Foundation is a community and charitable initiative dedicated to improving the lives of Calgarians and Albertans in both Central and Southern Alberta.

The Stampeders Foundation consolidates and strengthens the club’s many charitable endeavours, enabling the organization to build upon its long-standing commitment SINCE 2012, to the community. THE STAMPEDERS Through the annual Stampeders poker tournament, 50/50 ticket sales at Stampeders home games and other fundraising initiatives, the Foundation supports grassroots and FOUNDATION HAS amateur football programs and education as well as health and wellness projects.

The entire Stampeders organization takes great pride in giving back to the community. DONATED OVER The players annually contribute hundreds of hours of their time, while the Outriders cheer team completed more than 2,000 hours of community service and charitable work $2 MILLION TO last season. SUPPORT FOOTBALL MANDATE PROGRAMMING IN The Stampeders Foundation is fully committed to the support of amateur and grassroots football in Calgary and Southern Alberta communities. In addition to promoting access to SOUTHERN ALBERTA. all levels of football, the Stampeders Foundation is proud to support a number of health initiatives through player involvement and in-game programming.

PHOTOS COURTESY OF: 50/50 As the mission states, football programs are the primary focus of the Eric Boldt, Angela Burger, Jenn Pierce,Calgary Bantam Stampeders Foundation and through the sales of 50/50 tickets at Football Association, home games, players from the Calgary Bantam Calgary Senior High School DOUG MITCHELL JOHN TAYLOR JOHN HUFNAGEL MIKE FRANCO Football Association have the opportunity to raise funds for their NATIONAL CO-CHAIR, PRESIDENT & CEO, PRESIDENT & GM, SENIOR DIRECTOR, Athletic Association, Calgary BORDEN LADNER GERVAIS LPP BLACK DIAMOND LAND CALGARY STAMPEDER BUSINESS OPERATIONS, Stampeder Football Club teams by volunteering their time to sell 50/50 tickets. & CATTLE COMPANY FOOTBALL CLUB CALGARY STAMPEDER FOOTBALL CLUB ATB FINANCIAL CLASSIC CHARITY WALK The Stampeders Foundation partnered with ATB Financial for the ATB Financial Classic Charity Walk at Country Hills Golf Club on Aug. 13, 2017. Registration for this event was open to the public and for a donation of $30, participants were able to join Stampeders players and coaches to walk the course on the final day of the tournament. A portion of the funds raised from the walk was donated to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada.

STAMPEDERS AMBASSADORS CHARITY POKER TOURNAMENT The third annual Stampeders Ambassadors Charity Poker Tournament took place on Sept. 19, 2017, at the Grey Eagle Resort and Casino and raised $68,000 for the Calgary Stampeders Foundation. Registration for this annual event is open to the public with each poker table featuring an exclusive member of the Calgary Stampeders. Last year, 15 Stampeders players were in attendance including and Alex Singleton, in addition to various members of the football operations department such as and president and general manager John Hufnagel. CALGARY CATHOLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT The Stampeders Foundation donated $49,000 to the Calgary Catholic School District (CCSD) to help launch a brand-new intramural flag football program. This donation will help the CCSD provide a flag football kit to 48 junior high schools around the city and will allow more than 2,000 kids to participate in flag football for free.

CALGARY DINOS FOOTBALL The Stampeders Foundation presented the University of Calgary Dinos football club with a donation in the amount of $40,000 in 2017. This contribution assists the Dinos with the operating costs of running a premier post-secondary football program. The Dinos, playing in the Canada West conference of U Sports, have consistently been one of the nation’s highest-ranked teams. CALGARY HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL In 2017, the Stampeders Foundation provided the Calgary Senior High School Athletic Association (CSHSAA) a cheque in the amount of $25,000 which helped pay for the operational costs of running high school football programs in Calgary. One of the significant features of Calgary high school football is preferred playing venues such as Shouldice Park and McMahon Stadium, which are made affordable due in part to this contribution. In addition, this donation helped to provide the necessary medical staff at each game. The Stampeders Foundation also supports varsity coaches with quality game film and assistance from the team’s equipment supervisor and coaching staff. The CSHSAA is made up of 40 high school junior and senior football teams throughout the city of Calgary. SCHOOLS STAN SCHWARTZ AWARDS The Calgary Stampeder Football Club is a proud sponsor of the Stan Schwartz – Heart of a Champion Awards, presented annually to three Calgary high school football seniors. The recipients are recognized for their determination, pride, perseverance, 2017 dedication, leadership and integrity through their pursuit STAN SCHWARTZ AWARD WINNERS of excellence on the field, in the classroom and in the - community. Each student receives a $500 bursary. Division I AIDAN MIELE Notre Dame High School JOHN FORZANI Division II ENDOWMENT FUND CADEN SHANNON Bishop Carroll High School The Stampeders Foundation donated $100,000 to the Division III John Forzani Memorial Athletic Awards Endowment, to DAYMON CADA contribute to awards for students that are members of Forest Lawn High School the Dinos football team. - HARRY HOOD MEMORIAL FOOTBALL AWARD SCHOLARSHIP The Calgary Stampeder Football Club is proud to sponsor the Calgary Senior High School Athletic Association and Calgary Booster Club’s Harry Hood scholarship, which is presented annually to a grade 12 football player from all three senior football divisions. Each student receives a $1,000 bursary. SCHOLARSHIPS IN THE COMMUNITY PINKPOWER CANADIAN On Oct. 20, 2017, the Calgary Stampeder Football RED CROSS Club partnered with the Canadian Cancer Society in The Stampeders Foundation donated $5,000 to the the execution of ‘PinkPower,’ a tremendous fundraiser Canadian Red Cross for Texas Flood Relief and another for women’s cancer awareness. Pink-themed Calgary $5,000 for the BC wildfire relief. Stampeders merchandise was sold at McMahon Stadium during the game, with 100 per cent of the proceeds going to the Canadian Cancer Society. As a result of this program in 2017, the Calgary Stampeders MILITARY FAMILY issued a cheque in the amount of $24,870 to the RESOURCE CENTRE & Canadian Cancer Society. SUPPORT OUR TROOPS The Stampeders Foundation partnered with the Military Family Resource Centre and Support Our Troops for the JR. STAMPS CAMP on Sept. 4, 2017. In addition to being Jr. Stamps Camp is a unique event that gives kids in honoured as the charity of the game, the Foundation Central and Southern Alberta the opportunity to learn also donated $5,000. what is takes to become a Calgary Stampeder. In 2017, it was held at McMahon Stadium and was sponsored by Southland Transportation, with more than 200 kids participating in a series of fun football drills and other activities that were led by the club’s rookie players, president and general manager John Hufnagel and head coach Dave Dickenson. This event helps raise funds for minor football and awareness for KidSport.

KIDSPORT CALGARY STAMPEDERS The Calgary Stampeders have a long-standing PLAYERS AND COACHES relationship with KidSport and have partnered on many successful initiatives. Last year, the SUPPORT MANY LOCAL Stampeders Foundation donated $25,000 to CHARITIES AROUND THE KidSport which helped 164 kids get involved CITY AND SPENT OVER in football. 1,000 HOURS GIVING BACK TO THESE AND MANY OTHER LOCAL NOT-FOR- PROFITS LAST YEAR.
