ABOUT VERMEJO PARK RANCH

Purchased by Turner in 1996 and the largest Ted Turner Expeditions (TTX) vacation property at over 590,000 acres, Vermejo offers infinite opportunity for exploration. Located in northern and southern , Vermejo is nothing short of spectacular with diverse terrain spanning from short-grass prairie to alpine tundra mountains at 13,000 feet.

Vermejo Park is home to abundant wildlife populations, including large herds of , deer, antelope and , along with black bears, mountain lions, and Rocky Mountain . The ranch is also home to a variety of birds, with over 180 species catalogued on the ranch, including Merriam’s turkey, bald and golden eagles, and red-tailed hawks. Like all TTX properties, Vermejo is especially rich in history, containing coal and gold mining settlements, adobe ruins, petroglyphs, artifacts and abandoned charcoal ovens.

Ted Turner’s magnificent and newly-renovated private home, Casa Grande, will be available for those who want to experience unparalleled accommodations in this part of the world. Casa Grande was constructed by Joseph Lyman Silsbee (1848–1913) (mentor to legendary architect Frank Lloyd Wright) as a private residence during 1907-1909. In 2012, Mr. Turner began a nearly 4-year renovation of his 25,000 square foot, 7 BR, 9 bath home.

This historic 25,000 sq. ft. home has 7 guest bedrooms and 9 bathrooms on two floors of living space;

Main Floor: Ballroom, kitchen, breakfast room, butler’s quarters, sitting room, pool room, study and master bedroom (queen), and a 1905 Steinway Concert Grand piano.

Second floor: Second master bedroom (queen), 4 additional queen bedrooms and a twin bedroom. Sitting room, sun room, and an 1886 Steinway upright piano.

Vermejo Park Ranch is in Northern New Mexico, approximately 45 minutes’ drive from Raton. Sitting on 922 square miles, this property crosses into Colorado as well.
