The BRITISH MOTORSPORT MARSHALS CLUB SAFER MOTOR SPORT MOTOR SPORTS ASSOCIATION RECOGNISED FOUNDED 1957 Issue 8 August. 2020 WELCOLME BACK B.T.C.C. ! NORTHERN IRELAND REGION MAGAZINE Issue No. 8 August 2020. Cover Story. Welcome back ! BTCC returns with no less than 12 races in August alone. Another bit of good news as 3 more Grand Prix are added to the calendar , two in Italy and a new Portuguese race at the Portameo circuit in the Algarve. Although the U.S. and Mexico have been ruled out as 2020 venues there is still a chance of other races in the far east this year. Watching races on TV is one thing but getting the old overalls on is a different matter and its thanks to the 500 Club that we attended our first race meeting in July. A lot of work behind the scenes was needed to make it happen so well done to all concerned ! If the Kirkistown race meeting was good then the following weeks Sprint was even more special ! An entry of over 100 cars many of them top class rally cars ( McKinstry Motorsport were running 5 WRC cars ) so rally fans missed a treat. Many of the Rally cars were penalised for all four wheels off but as one explained “ we are only out for the craic” A great days sport and thanks once again to all involved. Big news for bike fans is the new road racing circuit along the south coast of the Isle of Wight . Seen a video of the proposed 12.4 mile course and it does look spectacular ! it will host British Superbikes in 2021.

  • John Mulholland Motors Ulster Rally How Can This Be The
The Loudon-clear guide to… John Mulholland Motors Ulster Rally How can this be the penultimate round of the British Rally Championship already? After a year away, the successful return of British rallying’s top flight has been the talk of 2016. The final two chapters both involve the Irish Sea. The last round runs on one of world motorsport’s most famous islands, the Isle of Man, but this week we’re overflying Douglas for a second trip of the season to Northern Ireland and the Ulster Rally. This rally offers a similar challenge to that of round two, the Circuit of Ireland, with the winner needing to find that perfect blend of speed and precision in what are likely to be some of the most changeable conditions and grip levels of the season. All eyes will, of course, be on Elfyn Evans as he chases a second British title for the Evans’ household, following father Gwyndaf’s 1996 success. But it’s also well worth keeping an eye on what’s certain to be another enthralling installment of the Junior BRC battle as homegrown heroes Rob Duggan and Gus Greensmith attempt to stave off the Nordic challenge of Sindre Furuseth and Mattias Adielsson. The rally ahead… MSA British Rally Championship round 6/7 Date: August 19/20 Based: Ebrington, Derry/Londonderry Service: Ebrington, Derry/Londonderry Stages: 14 Competitive distance: 133.86 miles (215.41km) Liaison distance: 287.69 miles (462.97km) Total distance: 421.55 miles (678.38km) Longest stage: Rousky (SS10/14) 15.88 miles (25.55km) Shortest stage: Butterlope (SS3/6) 4.36 miles (7.01km) Sunrise: 0612

  • Quinton Motor Club Ltd
Quinton Motor Club Ltd Forewo rd This publication is the result of over two years of investigative research and subsequent communication with many past members of Quinton Motor Club. No formal record of the Club ’s history or its activities existed before this task was under taken. I would particularly like to acknowledge the involvement of the following: Mike & Hilary Stratton , who were the driving force behind the w hole project and have spent countless hours in research and communication with past members , far and wide, a s well as many long journeys from their home in Devon to meet with the rest of us in the Midlands. The other members of the organising committee for the fiftieth anniversary celebrations for their hospitality at meetings, contribution of ideas, research fo r memorabilia , general good humour and enthusiasm that this milestone should be fittingly celebrated (in alphabetical order): Ray Barlow, Susan Butcher, Mike Harris, Nick Jones & Graham Towns hend. This publication has only been made possible by people tur ning out cupboards, garages and lofts to unearth long forgotten gems regarding the Club and its history. Foremost in this is Mike Adams, who has been the major source of information in that he has not thrown ANYTHING away sinc e he joined the Club in the mi d -1970s. Three big cardboard boxes arrived at my house one day in the early Spring of 2008, Ginny was not hap py when they were returned just over a year later, she thought she had seen the last of them..!! Others, not on the organising committee, that h ave unearthed memorabilia are (in alphabetical order): Peter Bayliss, John Davi s, Steve Eagle, Peter Gray , Neil Henderson and finally Dave Bullock who attended the first meeting of the Club and whose recollections of the early years has enabled me to piece together the scant infor mation that still exists from fifty years ago..!! We all hope you enjoy this publication and that its contents makes you smile and brings back happy memories of your time in Quinton Motor Club .

Press Information Audi Sport - i - WELCOME TO THE 1989 AUDI SPORT INTERNATIONAL RALLY On behalf of the Wolverhampton and South Staffordshire Car Club, the Audi Sport International Rally Organising Committee is pleased to welcome members of the media to Telford for the finale of the Shell Oils Open Rally Championship, the Audi Sport International Rally. This year, with the help of the Audi Sport Press Office, we are able to offer journalists more information about the event, the competitors and route, as well as providing a back-up service for those journalists unable to attend. This privileged information places the press in a position of trust with the marshals, who have a duty to keep the rally moving as well as looking after the safety of everyone involved. Even in the fanatically pro-rally country of Wales there are people who do not welcome events to their area. By following the advice given in this book, we hope to makr; your day as safe, fruitful and exciting as possible, while retaining the classic Mid-Wales rally stages for future events. May I also take this opportunity to thank the many motoring journalists who have provided support and advice over the years, which has enabled us to improve the event and thereby pursue promotion to international status. Your part in our promotion cannot be underestimated. • 1991 Audi Sport Rally Media Manual
WELCOME TO THE 1991 AUDI SPORT INTERNATIONAL RALLY On behalf of the Wolverhampton and South Staffordshire Car Club, the Audi Sport International Rally Organising Committee is pleased to welcome members of the media to Telford for the finale of the Shell Open Rally Championship, the Audi Sport International Rally. Even in the fanatically pro-rally country of Wales, there are people who do not welcome events to their area. By following the advice given in this book, we hope to make your day as safe, fruitful and exciting as possible, while retaining the classic Mid-Wales rally stages for future events. May I also take this opportunity to thank the many motoring journalists who have provided support and advice over the years, which has enabled us to improve the event and thereby pursue promotion to international status. Your part in our event cannot be underestimated. John Trevethick Clerk of the Course A MESSAGE FROM THE SPONSORS, AUDI SPORT OK Welcome once again to the Audi Sport International Rally. After nine years of backing from Audi and the excellent organisation of Wolverhampton and South Staffordshire Car Club, the event enjoys the coveted status of an international rally and membership of Britain's premier championship, the Shell Open Rally Championship.
