Bhavana Pradyumna Kandadai [email protected] • +33 7.54.81.36.16 • www.bhavanapradyumna.net Activities & Leadership Founder President, Carnatic Conservatory of Paris (R), France 2015 to Current • Played a key role is defining the role of Carnatic Conservatory of Paris and set a vision “To Promote Diversity and Harmony through Music and Dance” • In the past Five years, CCParis has conducted ten events across two countries and has provided an opportunity to more than forty artists, across seven different nationalities, to perform at these flagship events • Key Platforms created: o Paris Tyagaraja Aaradhana: Has been successfully conducting in Paris, from the year 2016. 2019 edition of Paris Tyagaraj Aradhana was conducted under the High Patronage of Indian Embassy in france o Nritya Naada: A platform to promote International dancers of Indian Classical dance forms and , while celebrating contemporary composers ▪ 2016: A Tribute to the Legend Bharata Ratna MS Subbulakshmi (Celebrating Centenary Birth anniversary) ▪ 2017: An evening of Madurai Muralidharan Compositions ▪ 2018: An evening of Lalgudi G. Jayaraman Compositions ▪ 2019: Compositons of Dr. M. Balamuralikrishna. Event was conducted under the High Patronage of Indian Embassy in France o Raga & Yoga: is a concept that I have pioneered. It was conceptualized with a vision: To beautifully confluence the melody of Raga with the poise of Yoga. Yogis, and Yoginis would perform yoga, while Raag aalaap (Carnatic music Melodic combinations), and Mantra chantings would blend in, to create positive vibrations, and a peaceful experience. ▪ 2020: Edition- Surya Namaskarah: A Set of 12 Surya Mantras were rendered. Yogis, and Yoginis would perform Surya Namaskarah, while Bhavana’s Raag Alaap in the Carnatic Raga “Surya” would be played in the background. Yogis and Yoginis from 6 continents, and 29 countries come together to perform Suryanamaskarah for Carnatic music. Yogis and Yoginis of different race, religion and age have performed. This truly reflected the essence of Carnatic Conservatory of Paris (CCParis), which is “To spread harmony by celebrating diversity: through Carnatic Music!”. Video was launched on the occasion of 6th International Day of Yoga, IDY 2020 • Video was globally released by Padma Shri Dr. HR Nagendra, Chancellor S-VYASA university • Project Edition received high patronage from Embassy of India in France • Project Edition was released on Twitter handles of Embassies of France, Germany, Portugal, and Estonia & Finland • Project Edition received recognition from Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), and Ministry of Ayush • Project garnered wide media coverage in India ▪ 2019: Edition- International Day of Yoga, La Villette, Paris: Performed in front of about 1500 Yogis & Yoginis. Event was organised by Embassy of India in France ▪ 2019: Edition- International Day of Yoga, Four City Tour (Loire-Atlantique, France): Performed in front of about 300 Yogis & Yoginis across 4 venues. Most of them were listening to Carnatic Music for the first time. They all really liked the positive vibrations of Mantras, and Carnatic Music. Event was organised by Association Bindu. Event had received High patronage from Embassy of India in France ▪ 2018: Edition- International Day of Yoga, La Villette, Paris: Performed in front of about 2500 Yogis & Yoginis. Event was organised by Embassy of India in France o Sanatana: Was instrumental in designing the concept for the event “Sanatana”, where the event is completely emceed in languages “Sanskrit”, and “French”. This platform was created to provide an opportunity for touring artists, to perform in the heart of Paris, France ▪ 2019: • Both events were conducted under the High Patronage of Indian Embassy in France o Bharatanatyam- by India based dancer Anuradha Venkataraman o Angkor, A Dance Lecture- by Singapore based Aravinth Kumarasamy, and Mohanapriyan Thavarajah

• Special Projects: o A Tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, on 150th year Birth Anniversary(2019): an Audio-Visual medley of Bhajans presented by Bhavana along with her students from different nationalities,cultural backgrounds. Project received High Patronage from Embassy of India in France. It was relased on twitter handle of Indian Embassy in france o “La Lune” celebrating 50years of moon landing (2019)- Bhavana had an opportunity to present Compositions on Moon, as part of “La Lune” festival at Grand Palais, Paris. Project executed in collaboration with University Paris 8. o Music Workshops at Drancy Conservatory (2018), France

o Conference, and Carnatic Vocal concert, at the world-famous Fes Festival (2017), Morocco, which was conducted at the patronage of the Moroccan King Mohammed VI o Lecture Demonstration on “Rasa” (2016), Musee Guimet, Paris
