Voluntarily Intervention towards the Pandemic Covid 19

As we know that Covid 19 is the biggest challenges globally this has been spread in each and every part of the World including India. Due to Covid 19, Lacs of people died and millions of people effected from this. This is the biggest problem which entire World is facing at present. Due to this, Our Country has been kept in Lockdown since a month by the Govt. of India. Due to Lockdown millions of people got effected and unemployed and on the verge of starvation.

The major precaution from Covid 19 is to maintain Social Distance and wearing Masks.

Hence, It is required for CSO/NGO to spread awareness among common people about the Covid 19.

In this way, Bhartiya Lok Kalyan Sansthan has done no. of activities in order to bring complete awareness among the common masses involving it’s own sources and manpower. The basic objectives of Bhartiya Lok Kalyan Sansthan was to spread IEC/BCC message as much as possible so that Common masses would be much aware about the Covid 19 and they would be able to take precaution action and would be safe from Covid 19 including their family.

Since the period of April, 2020, Bhartiya Lok Kalyan Sansthan has been been working in 130 Blocks of all 24 Districts of Jharkhand State using our own resources and under the valuable guidance of Dept. of Rural Development, Govt. of Jharkhand and UNICEF. The prime sector of our intervention area is IEC/SBCC activities, Masks Distribution, Organizing Meeting with maintaining social distance, Meeting with PRI members, Meeting with Key Functionaries, Distribution of Dry Rations, Supporting Govt. Officials in Birsa Harit Gram Yojana, MGNREGA, Baseline Survey and Skill Mapping of Migrants and many other areas.

We are also the Mother NGOs of Simdega District and trying our level best to coordinate with all CSOs Partners and Govt. Counterparts. Under the guidance of Dept. of Rural Development, Govt. of Jharkhand and UNICEF and with the coordination of all CSOs Partners and Govt. Stakeholders, we have been executing different activities of Covid 19 for the welfare of people and community and also supporting in the better implementation of Govt. Schemes like MGNREGA, Birsa Harit Gram Yojana (BHGY) and many others.

Bhartiya Lok Kalyan Sansthan has executed following activities among the Common masses which are as follows

(i) Distribution of Face Masks among Deputy Commissioners/Deputy Development Commissioners and Other District Officials

In order to bring complete awareness and knowledge about wearing masks, Bhartiya Lok Kalyan Sansthan has distributed Face Safety Masks among Deputy Commissioners/Deputy Development Commissioners and Other District Officials under the promotional activities. The prime objective of this activity is to bring awareness about wearing masks and common people would be able to understand the importance of wearing masks in order to protect themselves from Covid 19.

Bhartiya Lok Kalyan Sansthan has distributed Health Kits, Gloves, Mask, Soap, Cap, Sanitizer etc. among the Rural and Urban People, PRIs members, Key Functionaries and Village and Panchayat Levels in all 24 Districts of Jharkhand State on the valuable presence of Local PRIs members, BLKS representatives. During the distribution process, Common people have been understood about the need and requirement and importance of Social Distancing and wearing masks.

During the distribution process, Common people have been understood about the need and requirement and importance of Social Distancing and wearing masks. During this processes, more than 100 family have been distributed Dry Grains and Vegetables.

(iv) Distribution of Dry Grains and Vegetables like, Rice, Pulses, Oil, Potato, Salt, Mustard Oil etc. among Artists; Bhartiya Lok Kalyan Sansthan has distributed Dry Grains and Vegetables like, Rice, Pulses, Oil, Potato, Salt, Mustard Oil etc. among Artists at all 24 Districts of Jharkhand State on the valuable presence of PRIs members, Local Ward Member, BLKS representatives. During the distribution process, Artists have been understood about the need and requirement and importance of Social Distancing and wearing masks. During this processes, more than 30 Artists have been distributed Dry Grains and Vegetables.

Distribution of Dry Grains, Oil, Vegetables etc. by the BLKS Team among Artist (v) IEC and SBCC activities in different languages like Nagpuri, Khortha, Hindi and spread these via Facebook, Youtube, Whatsapp by Song, Drama, Puppet Show etc. Bharitya Lok Kalyan Sansthan have designed and developed different IEC and SBCC messages in Nagpuri, Khortha and Hindi and spread these via Facebook, Youtube, Whatsapp via Song, Drama, Puppet Show etc. in order to bring full awareness about Covid 19 among the Common people. These messages have definitely helped common people for understanding about the precautions to be taken for protecting themselves from Covid 19.

(vi) Designing of White Circle for maintaining Social Distance;

Bhartiya Lok Kalyan Sansthan has also taken initiatives and designed White Circle infront of Grocery Shops, Vegetables market and those public places where people are moving hither and thither for fulfilling their basic requirements. This has helped people for understanding about the concept and importance of Social Distancing.

(vii) Psycho Social Support after getting Training from NIMHANS, Bangluru:

Bhartiya Lok Kalyan Sansthan has also taken an very good and innovative initiatives. Two Counsellor of Organization have been imparted 5 Days Training of Covid 19 from National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences, Bangluru via Online medium. After getting training, both of Counsellor are contributing a lot for spreading the key learning and messages among the common people so that common people would be able to take precaution and protect themselves and their family.

(ix) Cooked Food Distribution:

Bhartiya Lok Kalyan Sansthan has taken initiative for feeding the food for common people of in different District. In this activity, more than 50 poor people have been feeding food in very well and hygienic way.

(x) Wall Writing about the Covid 19 under the IEC Activities: Bhartiya Lok Kalyan Sansthan has taken initiative for doing Wall Writing under the IEC activities for creating Mass Awareness about the Covid 19 among the Community.

(xii) Baseline Survey and Skill Mapping at Quarantine Centre:

Under the guidance of District Administration, West Singhbhum, we have conducted Baseline Survey and Skill Mapping of Migrants at Quarantine Centre of different Blocks of West Singhbhum District as per the prescribed format designed by the District Administration, West Singhbhum. Under this BLS, we have tried to collect the information about the different skills as occupied by the Migrants and submitted to the District Administration. We have done the Baseline Survey of about 280 Migrants Families.

(xiii) Covid 19 Jagrukta Rath:

Under the guidance of District Administration, Ranchi, we have desgined and run Covid 19 Jagrukta Rath in all 53 Wards of Ranchi Municipal Corporation and all 18 Blocks of Ranchi District. The basic objectives of this Covid 19 Jagrukta Rath is to bring complete awareness among the Urban and Rural Community. We have aware community for wearing masks not covering neck and mouth only; we have motivated community to wear masks covering till nose. We have also motivated community for maintaining the social distance. In this work, artists of BLKS have been performing by song, dance, acting and attracting community and awaring too.

Due to financial crunch of Covid 19, BLKS has done financial assistance to Artists of about 500 amounting to Rs. 1000/- of all 24 Districts of State who are directly associated to our agencies.

 Common People would be able to understand the precautionary steps to be taken from Covid 19;  BLKS has taken little steps for fulfilling the basic needs of food for poor section of society;  Common People would be able to understand the requirements, needs and importance of Social Distancing and Wearing Masks;  Public Servants like Policemen would be encouraged after award ceremony and awarded as Corona Warriors;  IEC / SBCC messages would help local people to understand easily the precaution to be taken from Covid 19 as it is prepared in local languages.

2.1.8 Conclusion

Bhartiya Lok Kalyan Sansthan has been doing and executing various activities in the painful situation of Covid 19 so that people would be aware and understand the basic reasons of Covid 19 and precautions to be taken from it. We also supported people in fulfilling the requirement of basic needs like food to some extent. These all have been done only using the resources of Organization which is very limited.

We as BLKS want to do a lots of activities for the welfare of people. If our organization would get financial and monetary support then we would be able to execute no. of activities during the time of Covid 19 and for welfare of the common and needy people.
