The Mass to Pray for the of Mary Potter

The 31st Anniversary Mass of the decree from the Congregation of the Cause of , declaring her Venerable was celebrated by Bishop Patrick McKinney, and many priests in Nottingham diocese at St. Cathedral, on 7th February 2019. There are many people, together with LCM Sisters who love the spirituality of Ven. Mary Potter and wish for her to be a soon.

The Homily by Fr. touched our hearts, he said, “… It was the Maternal heart of Mary that inspired her ministry to accompany those who were dying, those who were suffering. On that Cross Jesus entrusted Mary to John, and John to Mary. At that moment when the sword pierced her maternal heart, she was given to be our mother too, and that maternal heart that held her there at the cross, is now directed to the Church. In our pains and travails, of which there are many at the moment, she will never abandon us, even when we feel abandoned, she remains….”

I have a great desire that the spirituality of Ven. Mary Potter is well known in the world through her beautification. Her spirituality strengthens our faith so that we never give up finding a hope from God even when we feel abandoned by Him.

During the Mass, Bishop Patrick blessed a banner of Ven. Mary Potter made by the Craft Group.

After the Mass, Bishop Patrick led a procession to and blessed Ven. Mary Potter’s tomb.

Sr. Bernadette Fitzgerald, Congregational Leader thanked all people who offered their efforts for the mass and invited all people to have refreshments in the hall.

I really experienced the universal church in the spirit of Ven. Mary Potter. She might be very happy be with us in the . I am very proud of her as our foundress of the Congregation.
