Notes:  Corey Tropp continues to lead San Diego in scoring (29) after recording 1-4=5 points in three games last week. He also tied a career high with three assists in San Diego’s win over Iowa on Monday. He has 2-8=10 points in his last 11 games.  Brandon Montour leads San Diego and ranks tied for second among AHL defensemen in goals (11) after extending his scoring streak to five games. Montour scored two goals in San Diego’s win against Rockford on Friday (2- 0=2), marking his first multi-goal game of the season. He continues to lead the AHL in shots (126) and has 6-4=10 points in his last five games.  Kalle Kossila extended his point streak to six games (1-8=9) with 1-4=5 points in three games last week.  Goaltender Jhonas Enroth earned his first win with the Gulls on Monday, stopping 22-of-23 shots against Iowa.

Notes:  Grant Besse continues to ride an eight-game point streak (5-6=11) as Wisconsin did not play last weekend. Besse leads Wisconsin in assists (14) and scoring (22).  Troy Terry was injured in Friday night’s game against Western Michigan and is out indefinitely. Terry has 3-5=8 points in the last four games he has played in for Denver, along with 8-8=16 points in his last 10 games. He has also posted a shooting percentage of 27.5% in his last 10 contests, an 8.9% increase from his 18.6% season average shooting percentage.  Brent Gates Jr. ranks tied for third in goals (9), PPG (3) and GWG (2) among Minnesota players.

Notes:  Sam Steel leads the entire CHL in scoring (76) and goals per game (0.94; min. 15 games) while co-leading in shorthanded points (9). Steel is averaging 1.66 primary points per game, ranking second among CHL players (min. 15 games) and has created 35.19% of Regina’s goals this season. After being held scoreless on Friday night, Steel notched three assists on Saturday (0-3=3) and 1-2=3 points on Sunday, giving him 7-7=14 points in his last six games. He is on pace to record a 140- point plus season and would be the first WHL player since 1995-96 to surpass the 140-point mark.  Max Jones returned from injury over the weekend and recorded an assist in London’s overtime loss to Sault Ste. Marie on Sunday. Jones also added his first goal (1-0=1) since returning to lineup in London’s shootout loss to Sarnia on Wednesday. He ranks sixth among OHL skaters in points per game (1.50; minimum 15 games) and is the only player in the CHL to have recorded a minimum of 25 points with 100% of those points coming as primary points (goals or primary assists).  Julius Nattinen recorded his third three-point game of the season (1-2=3) in Windsor’s overtime loss to Sarnia on Friday. Nattinen has 3-8=11 points in his last nine games. He has also won 58.5% of his faceoffs since Dec. 1.  Josh Mahura recorded three assists in his first two games after being traded to Regina. Mahura ranks tied for sixth in goals (9), tied for ninth in scoring (36) and second in power-play goals (6) among WHL defensemen.  Deven Sideroff recorded 2-2=4 points in three games over the weekend, giving him 3-4=7 points in his last six games. Sideroff leads Kamloops in scoring (50) and ranks 10th in the WHL in goals. He has also recorded 70% of his points at even strength.  Jack Kopacka has 10-5=15 points in his last 16 games.  Tyler Soy recorded goal in consecutive games over the weekend and has 9-6=15 points in his last 13 games.  Alex Dostie recorded back-to-back three-point games over the weekend, marking the second time this season he has recorded three-or- more points in consecutive games.
