Preamble The world maritime industry is currently facing an increasing trend for vessel lay- ups and also scrapping. This adverse situation is primarily due to ultra low oil price market, poor freight rates and a stagnant world economy has led to lay- up of numerous not only offshore vessels, but also bulk carriers and container vessels.
