This is a series of articles by victor Viesel, Hall Syndicate.
The first, inappropriately marked "Oswald" when his name is not mentioned once, is dated 11/28/63. It bars internal evidence of having been rendered out of almost nothing, beginning with over-weiting about Ruby and ending with a list of names of teose with whom he had no relationship at all to make Ruby seem like something big and perhaps to suggest that through his work on the McCeellan Committee, which is quoted, there was a mob vengeance motive. this is not stated.
The column of 12/3 has the first page missing. It asks a series of questions, the truthful answers to which would for the most part be innocent (not all), to infer some devious USSR connection with the assassination.
It is in the column dated 12/23 that I see what I'd expected, the heavy hand of St. Edgar the Saviour. Here everything is opposite reality in precisely the right way. Oswald was a Russian agent with "obviously" the proof, obviously those things that are not in any way related to his being or having a potential use as such a Red Agent. ee is not an FBI agent, oh, no. They were checking on him-for 17 solid months. Beginning when he got back to the U.S. (Hear that, Earl Warren?). Ahd the answer to the Hosty affidavit:Oswald was not only known not to be violent but men on his mission are selected not to be, They donut blow t eir missions, etc. I don't believe it was known publicly that the last Bureau interview was in New Orleans in 1963, August, which Riesel says. If I am correct, this is one of the clues that the FBI was feeding his stuff to him (he couldn't have made it up better if they weren't). lhie crap even undertakes to meke his alleged ineptness out to be part of his cover. And rather than not cueing the Secret Service in,the FBI worked with them closely. in short, this is the FBI's defense of itself and bears the mark of its leaked information and its approach - certainly its public-relations need.
"New Guard" is a YAF mouthpiece. Donal J. Lambro wrote "Eho Is Lee Hemevy Oswald" for the RovembereDecember issue, 1963. Thos is the striahgt right---wing line that LHO "was a tormented karxist fanatic". Anything else complicates it too much. That is the whole story. Except for a "New Guard " inference that Castro was really behind it.
Herbert Philbrick's !Dollar Holler" for January 1964 is here, too. It includes a box listing books said to prove that "Communists Practise Violence". The story is "A Classic Case of Communist Deception". This means they did the deed and blame it on others, therefore, it is proven that they did it. That the Communist Party denied he had any connection with it is false because they denied it. Philbirck "examines" what he calls "the facts".
Ale in all, a fine collection of the No.ver line, some spontaneous, like the New Guard and rbilbrick, and Riesel, whether or not spontaneous, bearing internal evidence of having been fed by the FBI.
