A short route, but with a steep climb out of the Waverley Valley up to the Old Town. Cycle lane provided on
1 / 10 Market Street, and advanced stop line provided at junction with The Mound. The route then joins National
Cycle Route 1, with a cycle lane up the remainder of The Mound and a shared bus/cycle lane on George IV
Bridge.

Network Rail, in its infinite wisdom, has decided that cyclists pose a grave risk to life and limb. So the ramps
into the station remain closed to all except a handful of delivery vehicles while rail travellers are crowded on
to the narrow walkways. Overall, a pretty grim welcome to Edinburgh for rail travellers.
