Teens Stealing Cars In Madison By: Jess Duerst

Around December 2nd, three teens stole a car. A thirteen-year-old boy was driving with his two friends. The car got out of control, and they crashed into a light pole. The car started on fire. The teen drove quickly and got out of the car and ran away leaving his friends in the burning car. When the driver showed up at the hospital, he said that he was riding a bike.

Around January 3rd, there was a family who had their car stolen again. The first time was in October, and the second time a white van came and stopped on the side of the road near the house. A teen quickly got out of it, and ran towards the car, got in it, and drove away. When they were caught, they did not get sent to the Juvenile Reception Center because there is not enough evidence that they took the car.

Another time was around December 3rd, when three teens stole a car. Two 13-year-old girls, and a 14-year-old boy were the thieves. The Madison Police spotted the teens driving on Highway 12. Officials stopped the car near Todd Drive, Post Road, and all three teens were arrested. Now, they are in the Juvenile Reception Center. Coronavirus Facts and Myths

By: Aurora Montero

The Coronavirus. It started at an animal market in the Chinese province of Hubei, specifically the city of Wuhan. As of March 2nd of 2020, there are 89,868 confirmed cases, 3,069 deaths, and 45,636 people who had the virus and have recovered. Now, just because there are people recovered doesn’t mean there is a cure for it yet. This article will inform you about the facts and myths about this new virus, and how to properly react to it.

I’ll die if I get the Coronavirus! The chances are pretty small. Only 2% of cases have ended in death. Even if you get it, you probably won’t be badly affected. Unfortunately, there are people who are at the highest risk of death from this virus. The elderly, very young individuals (babies, toddlers), and people with any pre- existing health problems are most vulnerable.

I have to put on a mask, PPE (personal protective equipment) etc. to protect myself from the Coronavirus! Almost every germ and virus is small enough to slip through the tiniest open space. The best thing to do is cover your mouth with your elbow when you sneeze or cough. Eating healthy, washing your hands, and showering every or every other day are the best things you can do to try and prevent getting sick from this pandemic.

The Coronavirus is the most deadly and dangerous disease in existence! The common Flu/Influenza kills 60 times more than Coronavirus. People forget about the regular flu, but that is more deadly than the Coronavirus. It’s important to get Flu shots!

My pet dog/cat/hamster etc. could spread the Coronavirus! It came from an animal market, right? Yes, it did. However, as of right now, there is no evidence that pets can spread or be infected with the new virus. This means you’re good for now with your pet(s). -Scoop DeVille- By: Alayna Cypher

Established in 2009, -Scoop DeVille- is an old fashioned ice cream parlor with all of the delicious treats and ice cream you can imagine. They are located in Hartford, Wisconsin. Across the street is the city hall and next door is Shindigs.

The ice cream is homemade and absolutely AMAZING. Purple cow, pistachio, cheesecake, banana, and PB & J are some of the 32 daily flavors served in homemade waffle cones. You don’t have to get a waffle cone as you can get it in a cake cone, sugar cone, or dish, but I highly recommend it! You can also go the other way and get a shake, a malt, or root beer float.

And to bring home, they have candies, roasted nuts, and old fashioned soda bottles. Some of the treats include Candy Sticks, Turkish Taffy, Slapstick, Slowpoke, Black Cow, Necco Candy Buttons, Candy Sticks, Chuckles, and Gold Mine gum. They also have sodas like Sprite, rootbeer, and grape. And for nuts they have cashews, almonds, and pecans. The workers are very kind and patient, so if you go, there is almost automatic service. Don’t be afraid to ask for a free sample if you’re not sure about a certain flavor.

Packers Offseason By: Nick Lau

The Packers had a good season, but when it came down to it, they couldn’t win the game that really mattered. They got destroyed by the 49ers both times they played them, and couldn’t win when they played any good teams. They had a very easy schedule which led to their seemingly good record. It made the Packers seem better than they really were. The talent gap in the NFC between the Packers and the 49ers is immense, and the Packers will need to close that gap if they want to have a better season in 2021.

First off, the Packers need to draft or sign a wide receiver. Devante Adams is the only truly good wide receiver on our team, and we need to draft another good receiver to help him out and give Rodgers more reliable options. Drafting another receiver would really help out our offense.

Another way to acquire a good receiver is the Packers could trade for A.J. Green from Cincinnati, Emmanuel Sanders from San Francisco, or Robby Anderson from New York.

Secondly, we need to draft a quarterback. Aaron Rodgers has been a great quarterback for many years, but we need to face the truth. He is getting old. He is already a year older than Brett Favre was when he retired. We need to pick up a decent quarterback that could be our starter in the future.

There are more possibilities to get better, but these are the major things the Packers need to do to have a better season in 2021. Packers Article Link - Picture Link - Home Page

Archery -Basic Steps and Rules By: Paige Jambura

Archery is a super fun sport. Others may not like it because it involves a weapon that they could possibly hurt someone with, but if you learn from a good instructor, you will be the best in your class. One of the most important things about archery is the 11 steps to shooting your bow. Always be sure of your shooting lane. If you aren't sure if the lane is clear, DO NOT shoot your bow. Another really important rule is to never dry-fire, which means never let go of the string when there is no arrow clipped in. There are definitely more rules, but those are the most important.

Stance: Place your feet about shoulder width apart. If you get confused, your feet will automatically place themselves. Once you place your feet down, don’t move them. If you do, your aim will be all messed up.

Knock your arrow: Once you have your feet placed, you're going to take your bow and put the top part of the arrow above the taped part of your bow.

Draw hand: Take your three fingers including the middle, pointer and ring fingers, and place them on the bow string, making sure that all your fingers are below your arrow.

Set bow hand: Grab the bow by the part that has the handle, then wrap your hand around until comfortable. If you are a beginner, your hand will slowly lift up. Only have the ring and pinky fingers in the air.

Pre Draw: Grab the string with your three fingers and make sure everything seems right. (ALWAYS MAKE SURE YOU HAVE AN EXPERIENCED ARCHER NEXT TO YOU!)

Draw: Now you can begin to pull back the arrow using your fingers that are placed on the string. Pull back until the string stops, and hold your position. Then put your hand that's pulling back the string and place it next to your smile bones, (corner of your mouth) Next move the bow around to see where to shoot. You should have the string and arrow lined up in front of your eye.

Relax: Once you have your sight locked in, take a deep breath and relax to help you focus.

Shoot: Once you are relaxed and focused, release your arrow. You can pretend that your arm is hanging onto a bucket of heavy metal, and then dropping it.

Follow through and reflect: Once you’ve shot your arrow, keep your arms in place and wait until you see the arrow on the target before grabbing the next arrow.

85 Seasons of Slinger History

By: Chase Jacklin and Joey Frasheski

Starting back in 1935, Slinger football players took the field. Since 1935, Slinger football has had its ups and downs. However, the past 22 years have been very bright. Just before the turn of the century, Slinger football dominated the competition. In the past 22 years, Slinger has made it to the third round of the playoffs four times. They also have claimed two state titles. In 1997 WFCA (Wisconsin Football Coaches Association) hall of fame coach, Fred Spaeth, led the Owls to a state championship where they unfortunately lost. One season later, in 1998, they returned to the state championship, but this time, they took home the title.

Currently, the entire Slinger Football Program is very strong. In the 2019 season, around half of the teams in the Northshore Conference didn’t have a JV team, but Slinger sure did! In the same season, Slinger was one of the only teams in the Northshore conference to have two teams at every level. The 5th grade team was the only level in many years to not have two teams, and it was barely below the splitting number.

They also started the SLC (Slinger Leadership Council) which develops leadership skills in the players. Slinger football has blossomed into an outstanding program over the near century. Their influence on the community is outstanding. One belief of the program is all in as one, which means several players, one goal, one team. With the new facilities the program got in 2017, they have built an amazing program. Slinger football has blossomed into an outstanding program over the last several years. Not only has Slinger evolved, but so has the game of football. Slinger football can rally the entire town to come to their games!

How to Survive ARK Survival Evolved

By: Lucas Geisler and Mikey Burzlaff

Ark is a complex game with lots of hidden perks and ways to level up faster. The easiest way to lvl (level up) on a server is to craft. Crafting gives you excessive amounts of exp. (experience) and it will greatly help you to be a higher level than most people on the server. After you have the amount of levels that you are happy with, you will want to set up a two by two taming base just for the start. If you have certain places like a cave or somewhere secret, you should start with your base and turrets immediately. Next, you will want to go tame animals, make tribes, and just have fun. You will need to be on a constant grind for metal/oil. Instead, you can choose servers like fibercraft where you only need fiber, and you can focus on taming.

Playing on things like PC will allow you to do lots of mods. This game is available for download on every device.
