AHEMADABAD-GIR NATIONAL PARK-SOMNATH-DWARKA Ahmedabad, in western India, is the largest city in the state of Gujarat. The Sabarmati River runs through its center. On the western bank is the Gandhi Ashram at Sabarmati, which displays the spiritual leader’s living quarters and artifacts. Across the river, the Calico Museum of Textiles, once a cloth merchant's mansion, has a significant collection of antique and modern fabrics. PROGRAMME: DAY 01: Ahmedabad Start your day. After breakfast visit Sabarmati Ashram and Akshardham Temple.After lunch visit Vintage Car Museum. Dinner and overnight stay in hotel at Ahmedabad. DAY 02: Ahmedabad – Dwarka (450km, 10 Hrs. Approx.): After early breakfast leave for Dwarka (450km, 10 Hrs. Approx.) Lunch on the way. Arrive Dwarka dinner and overnight stay in the hotel at Dwarka. DAY 03: Dwarka – Somnath Temple After breakfast visit Dwarkadeesh Temple. Take a holy dip in Gomti river, later leave to visit Nageshwar Jyotirling, Gopi Talav and on way back do visit Rukmani Temple, in the evening enjoy the exotic views of coastal area, attend evening aarti at Dwarkadish temple. After dinner leave Dwarka for Somnath Temple. Arrive Somnath. Overnight stay in the hotel at Somnath. DAY 04: Somnath Temple – Gir National Park (70km, 3 Hrs. Approx.). After breakfast visit visit Bhalka Tirth, Triveni Ghat & Somnath Temple (Lunch at Somnath). In the evening attend Aarti and lave for Gir (70km, 3 Hrs. Approx.). Arrive Gir and transfer to the hotel dinner and overnight stay in the hotel at Gir National Park. DAY 05: Gir National Park After breakfast visit Gir National Park & Wildlife Sanctuary. This deciduous forest is the last abode of the Asiatic Lion and also has a thriving Panther’s (Leopard) population. Dinner and overnight stay in the Hotel/Resort at Gir. DAY 06: Gir National Park – Ahmedabad (330kms, 9 hrs. Approx.). Early morning go for Jungle trek, return to the hotel. After breakfast leave Gir for Ahmedabad (Lunch on the way), Arrive Ahmedabad. End your Trip. .

Even before her 8th child was born, Devaki and Vasudeva started lamenting its fate andtheirs. Then suddenly Lord Vishnu appeared before them and said he himself was coming to rescue them and the people of Mathura. He asked Vasudeva to carry him to the house of his friend, the cowherd chief Nanda in Gokula right after his birth, where Nanda's wife Yashoda had given birth to a daughter.He was to exchange his boy and bring Yashoda's baby daughter back to the prison.Vishnu assured them that "nothing shall bar your path".At midnight on ashtami, the divine baby was born in Kansa's prison.Remembering the divine instructions, Vasudeva clasped the child to his bosom and started for Gokula,but found that his legs were in chains.

The oceans rose and submerged the whole of Dwaraka.“ According to Vishnu Purana - Dwaraka was submerged by the sea right after the death of Lord Krishna. This was regarded as a grandiose metaphor, part of a story filled with great myths. In the early eighties an important archaeological site was found in India, at Dwaraka, the site of the legendary city of Lord Krishna. Now, it is discovered that the whole coast of western India sank by nearly 40 feet around 1500 B.C. E. Why is that the rediscovery of Dwaraka has not attracted the same degree of attention in the West, as that of ancient Troy by Heinrich Schliemann? The first clear historical record is dated 574 A.D. and occurs in the Palitana Plates of Samanta Simhaditya. This inscription refers to Dwaraka as the capital of the western coast of Saurashtra and still more important, states that Sri Krishna lived here. The establishment of one of the four of his pithas at Dwaraka by Sankaracharya attests to the great religious sanctity the place must have attained by the eighth century A.D. Day 2:- Ahmedabad To Rajkot Today drive to the 11th century Sun Temple of Modhera, one of the finest examples of Hindu temple architecture in western India. After seeing the temple, continue to Patan to see the magnificently carved 11th century stepwell. Onward drive down to Rajkot. Evening visit the Watson Museum in Rajkot, rest of the evening at leisure, Overnight in Rajkot at Hotel Grand Regency. Day 3:- Rajkot To Jamnagar Leave for Jamnagar after breakfast. Visit Bala Hanuman Temple known for its nonstop ramdhun since 1956 and in mentioned in Guinness Book of World Records, also visit Lakhota Museum, Lakhota Lake and other famous temples of Jamnagar. Not to forget visit the local markets in Jamnagar known for its bandhni work. Overnight at Hotel. Day 4:- Jamnagar To Dwarka After morning breakfast drive down to Dwarka visit Nageshwar Jyotirling, Gopi, Bet Dwarka and Rukmani Temple and later in afternoon lunch at Hotel. Attend evening Aarti at Dwarka dish temple.
