Theater and Dance Curriculum Ogdensburg School District Born on: December 4, 2018 Approved: December 4, 2018 VISION Education in Theater and Dance fosters: ● Understanding of the complex technological environment within the fields ● Recognition of elements and skills that are essential for growth toward college and career readiness ● Development of 21st-century skills ● Understanding of cultures and the global connections ● Focus on the humanities for developing understanding of different ethnic, racial, and cultural backgrounds FINE ARTS IN THE 21st CENTURY The growing field of entrepreneurship requires that creativity be a driving force in a child’s education. The fast paced changes in technology rely on the ability of workers to use imagination and utilize out-of-the-box thinking. Innovation and creativity are a natural outcome with a Fine Arts Education. Additionally, a myriad of opportunities exist in the Fine Arts to support self expression through media other than language.
