I have a burden in my heart to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our nation’s need for prayer didn’t end with the election, a new administration in Washington, or a new year. America still needs the message of “the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes” (Romans 1:16). The one sure path to national restoration is through repentance, and only the Good News of God’s Son can humble hearts and change them—across our nation or anywhere in the world. Franklin Graham
Franklin Graham Religion Media Centre Collaboration House, 77-79 Charlotte Street, London W1T 4LP | [email protected] Charity registration number: 1169562 William Franklin Graham III is a Christian evangelist and missionary. He was born in 1952 in North Carolina, the son of the evangelist Billy Graham. In 2020, he is planning a four-month tour of the UK, but seven out of eight venues have banned him, citing opposition to his views, especially on homosexuality, as incompatible with values of equality, diversity and inclusivity. The venues which have banned him are: the ACC conference venue in Liverpool, the FlyDSA Arena in Sheffield, the SSE Hydro venue in Glasgow, the International Convention Centre Wales in Newport, the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes, The Arena Birmingham and another in London. The venue in Newcastle is the only one remaining. Despite this, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association which is organising the tour, said it will still go ahead and they are finalising sites for events, sticking to original dates. Peter Lynas, UK Director of the Evangelical Alliance, said they have members who support and have concerns about the tour, but “. venues, often owned by local people and run by their councils, are challenging freedom of speech and freedom of religion. We should all share concerns about that.” In 2018, there were protests over his visit to “The Festival of Hope” in Blackpool, Lancashire. The festival was organised by 200 churches from many denominations, including the Church of England, but 8,000 local people signed a petition against the visit. The Muslim Council of Britain called on the government to refuse Graham a visa on the grounds that comments he has made amount to Islamophobia and homophobia. -

FREE FOR YOU ON REQUEST TO: [email protected] 15 June 2016 Vol 78 No 21 Free On Request: [email protected] Will Graham Goes Outback To Share The Hope Of Christ Evangelist Will Graham returned to Australia in May to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the Outback. The three‐ day event, Reality, Alice Springs, was held from 20‐22 May at Blatherskite Park in Alice Springs, NT. Out of a population of 28,605, nearly 6,000 people attended the weekend event. ‘Some of you have a broken life, and God doesn't use band aids. God wants to completely change you,’ Will Graham de‐ clared. ‘Salvation is a person and His name is “Jesus”. Jesus can change everything in life. He can change your life tonight!’ At Graham’s invitation, a total of 549 people made a commitment to Christ. An additional 297 responded for prayer and spiritual support. Reality featured five different events over the course of the weekend, including evangelistic out‐ reaches on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, a KidzFest program for children on Saturday morning, and a combined church service for the city on Sunday morning. Reflecting on Reality, Graham referred to another evangelist who traveled the same territory more than 45 years prior. Dr Ralph Bell, a longtime ministry partner of Billy Graham’s, spent two months preaching in and around Alice Springs in 1969, and – Graham says – paved the way for the success of this event. ‘In Alice Springs God harvested fruit that we did not sow. Particularly among the indigenous people, Dr Bell and other missionaries planted the seeds of faith in Jesus Christ decades ago, and we are able to see the result this weekend.’ This was Will Graham’s fourth time preaching in Australia, dating back to 2010. -

Understanding Evangelical Support for, and Opposition to Donald Trump in the 2016 Presidential Election by Joseph Thomas Zichterman A thesis submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Arts in Political Science Thesis Committee: Richard Clucas, Chair Jack Miller Kim Williams Portland State University 2020 Abstract This thesis addressed the conundrum that 81 percent of evangelicals supported Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election, despite the fact that his character and comportment commonly did not exemplify the values and ideals that they professed. This was particularly perplexing to many outside (and within) evangelical circles, because as leaders of America’s “Moral Majority” for almost four decades, prior to Trump’s campaign, evangelicals had insisted that only candidates who set a high standard for personal integrity and civic decency, were qualified to serve as president. -

Billy Graham
Billy Graham William Franklin Graham Jr. (November 7, 1918 – February 21, 2018) was an American evangelist, a prominent evangelical Christian figure, and an The Reverend ordained Southern Baptist minister who became well-known internationally in the late 1940s. One of his biographers has placed him "among the most Billy Graham influential Christian leaders" of the 20th century.[2] As a preacher, he held large indoor and outdoor rallies with sermons that were broadcast on radio and television; some were still being re-broadcast into the 21st century.[3] In his six decades on television, Graham hosted annual "Crusades", evangelistic campaigns that ran from 1947 until his retirement in 2005. He also hosted the radio show Hour of Decision from 1950 to 1954. He repudiated racial segregation[4] and insisted on racial integration for his revivals and crusades, starting in 1953; he also invited Martin Luther King Jr. to preach jointly at a revival in New York City in 1957. In addition to his religious aims, he helped shape the worldview of a huge number of people who came from different backgrounds, leading them to find a relationship between the Bible and contemporary secular viewpoints. According to his website, Graham preached to live audiences of 210 million people in more than 185 countries and territories through various meetings, including BMS World Mission and Global Mission.[5] Graham was a spiritual adviser to U.S. presidents, and he provided spiritual Graham in 1966 counsel for every president from Harry S. Truman (33rd) to Barack Obama Personal (44th).[6] He was particularly close to Dwight D.
