BILLY SCHUERMAN / THE DAILY MISSISSIPPIAN No Ceilings: Coach Yo enters season two at Ole Miss

BENTON DODD [email protected]

The 2018-19 Ole Miss women’s basketball season was one to be forgotten. The team finished with a 9-22 overall record and ended the season on a six-game losing streak. The team is currently predicted to finish second to last in the SEC, but there is a quiet confidence building within the program. Coach Yolett McPhee-Mc- Cuin, known affectionately to the team as “Coach Yo,” had a tough task in front of her during her first year, as the Rebels were picked to finish last in the SEC. They finished near the bottom of the conference but improved their SEC win total from the previous year by two games and fought for an impressive win over No. 16 BILLY SCHUERMAN / THE DAILY MISSISSIPPIAN Kentucky in January.
