The HBOGO channel shows up on my Roku, but when I tried to activate, the HBO website does not list the Roku as a compatable device, although the Xbox is. There is no DirecTV app for Roku as you pay for each authorized TV on the service. (it is from satellite, not streaming). Some individual channels have apps for Roku so allow you to use them with your DirecTV login. Having DirecTV or AT&T doesn't prevent you from using the Roku itself. The Directv Now (DTVN) app on streaming devices is not DirecTV. They are separate providers owned by AT&T. But you should be able to use the apps from the networks you subscribe to and activate using your DirecTV account credentials. Jeffster. You would check the individual channel's website or app for an option to select Directv during the login process. I have never seen a place on ROKU player to log in IN GENERAL, each app requires it, individually. Now the roku app on your laptop or iphone or wherever you have it, of course you have a ROKU specific log in there to manage apps and so on. I dont think you can have only a roku player, you have to create a roku account on a computer online at their site. Artsyshirley. You have to login as usual to roku then click in each channel app and it will give a code. You go the the website that you are give, then choose Directv, then put in your username and password that you have with directv. But you will only be able to watch the Channels that are in your regular package. I doubt there is much on DirectTV that cant be found on Roku. Like anything new Roku requires a bit of a learning process. But its not hard. You can search the net for good recommended Channels. There are many. YouTube is not only a good Channel but its a great resource.
