Roku Streaming Stick Setup Screenshots.Indd ROKU STREAMING STICK SET UP SCREENSHOTS This is going to be fun! JULY 2014 www.brazosnet.com Step 1 - Remove Roku Streaming Stick from the box. Connect the power cable to the Roku Stick. Next, place the batteries (included) into the remote. www.brazosnet.com Step 2 - Set the input on our TV to HDMI. Depending on how many HDMI ports you have...you may need to choose HDMI-1, HDMI-2 or HDMI-Side (This TV has 3 HDMI ports) www.brazosnet.com Step 4- Plug the Roku Streaming Stick into the HDMI port. For this setup we used the HDMI side port. www.brazosnet.com Step 5- Once the Roku Stick is plugged in, it will bring up an opening screen asking you to choose which language you would like. English is high-lighted by default. If English is the language you would like to use, press OK using the Roku Remote. www.brazosnet.com Step 6- Get Ready to stream! You will see the Get Ready To Stream screen, select or highlight the Continue tab by pressing OK on the Roku remote. www.brazosnet.com Step 7- Select your wireless network. Roku will display the wireless networks it fi nds. You should see your wireless network displayed. Select your wireless network (using the up and down arrows on the Roku remote). Using the Roku remote highlight the letters of your password. Example: Using the up and down arrow keys highlight “s” then press OK using the Roku remote. This will place the letter in the bar above the keyboard. Once all the letters of your password are in place, scroll down to Connect and press OK. Note: Make sure the correct key postioning is checked example: abc123 is checked for our network password. If there are symbols in your password you will need to scroll down using the arrow keys and check the appropriate character box. is will display symbols (number, pound, asterick etc.). www.brazosnet.com Step 9- Connecting to the Internet. The next screen that is displayed will be Con- necting to the Internet. The Roku device is attempting to connect to your network. As each item is completed....a Green checkmark will be appear in front of each item listed. Connecting to the wireless network Connecting to your local network Connecting to the Internet. www.brazosnet.com Step 10 - Get the latest Software - Now your Roku device is ready to install the latest software updates. Click OK using your Roku remote. Once the updates are installed the Roku device will restart itself. www.brazosnet.com Step 11- Activate Your Roku - Set up your Roku account online. After all the updates are completed and the Roku device has restarted itself, the next screen you will see is: Activate Your Roku. To activate your account, you will need to go to an Internet con- nected device...your laptop, desktop PC, tablet, etc. at https://owner.roku.com/link. Once the screen is displayed, enter your unique code displayed on the TV screen in the “Please enter the link code from your TV”. www.brazosnet.com Step 12- Activate Your Roku - Set up your Roku account online. After entering the code you will be ask: Do you have a Roku account? Select the answer that applies to you. No, I need to create one Yes, I already have one www.brazosnet.com Step 13- Create your Roku account - We selected “No, I need to create one” which brought us to the “Create your Roku account” screen. A Roku account gives you access to the Roku Channel Store. Simply complete all the required fields to get started. You will need to supply Credit Card information or Pay Pal information. Note: Your credit card will only be charged for purchases you authorize. Creating a Roku account is free and secure. Simply provide your contact information. Then create a Roku password for this account. Check that you are 18 years of age or older, and have read the Terms & Condi- tions. It is recommeded that you read the Terms and Conditions first by clicking on the link highlighted in blue. Once you agree, click Continue. www.brazosnet.com Step 14- Choose your PIN preferences - Once your account information is provided Roku will ask you to Choose your Pin Preferences - Creating a Personal Identification Number (PIN) and preferences gives you full control when adding channels and making purchases using your Roku account. Choose one of the three preferences provided and create a unique 4 digit PIN. www.brazosnet.com Step 15 - Provide payment information - After choosing your PIN preferences the next screen that appears will be the payment information screen. Your Roku account is free and secure. Roku asks for payment information to offer convenience when making movie, TV, and Channel Store purchases right from your TV. Note: You will only be charged if you choose to make a purchase. Provide your payment method and billing address information and click continue. www.brazosnet.com Step 16- Add some channels to your account - This screen is provided for your con- venience and allows you to add free or paid channel options. Note: Many more channels are available in the Roku Channel Store. Here we se- lected things like YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Instant Video, and PBS kids. Once at the Roku Channel Store, you can choose from thousands of channel options, News, Sports, Cooking,etc. www.brazosnet.com Step 17- Your Done! Happy Streaming. Your Roku online account is created and you’ve added some of your favorite channels. Note: This screen is offering you the option to begin 30-day free trials of several movie and TV channels available. You do not have to activate any of them. www.brazosnet.com Step 18- Channel Updates. Now return to your TV and let Roku complete the channel updates you selected online. You will see screens that say something like....Channel up- date 2 of 18 (depending on the number of channels you selected). Once all the updates are completed, you should see a Congratulations! screen. www.brazosnet.com Step 19- Start Streaming!
