HISTORY LOCATION NAMESAKE Founded in 1965; Portledge School was the Portledge’s 63 acre campus was once the Portledge was the name Miss Stoddart chose vision of Miss Stodart who transformed her estate for Charles Coffin who was the COO for her new school, as it was the Coffin Early Childhood into Portledge; eventually of General Electric. The Coffin family built family’s original estate name from their adding a grade each year until the first their 120 acre estate in 1912, with the Lower Devonshire England home of the 13th century.
