Frozen Four 4v4 Indoor Soccer Tournament Rules FIFA RULES APPLY IF NOT MODIFIED WITHIN

Goals 1) Approximately 6 feet wide x 3 1/2 high.

Field Dimensions 2) All age groups will play on fields approximately 25 x 35 yards ( court). 3) The goal box (ten feet wide by four feet long), is directly in front of the goal. No player may the ball within the goal box. However, any player may move through the goal box. Any part of the ball or player's body on the line is considered in the goal box. If a defender touches the ball within the goal box, a goal is awarded to the offensive team. If an offensive player touches the ball within the goal box, a is awarded to the defensive team. If the ball comes to rest in the goal box, a goal kick is awarded regardless of who touched the ball last.

Equipment 4) All players must wear shin-guards and non-marking shoes (no black soles, turfs or cleats).

Ball 5) A weighted Futsal ball will be used for all matches.

Roster/Number of Players 6) Six is the maximum number of players on each roster per team with four players on the field at any one time. There are no goalkeepers in 4v4. Players may only be roster with one team in the event and rosters may not be changed one a team has played its first game.

Substitutions 7) Substitutions may occur at any dead-ball situation, but players must enter and exit at the half-field mark only. Players must have the permission of the referee to enter the field of play. In other words, there is no "subbing on the fly".

Length of Game 8) Games consist of one 25 minute period with a running clock. There is no halftime and no timeouts. Games tied after regulation play shall end in a tie, except in playoffs (see below). A team, at the discretion of the referee, will forfeit at game time if they are not present.

Offside 9) No in 4v4.

Fouls and Misconduct 10) All fouls are in accordance with FIFA rules. a. EXCEPTION—NO slide tackling! i. Slide tackling will result in a direct for the other team. Free Kicks 11) ALL Free kicks are DIRECT and taken from the spot of the foul. The ball may not be touched more than once by the same player until touched by another player after the kick. When a player is taking a free kick, the ball must be stationary. All opposing players and defending wall must be at least 3 yards from the ball. The wall cannot move until the ball has been put in play. If a player of the opposing team encroaches within 3 yards of the ball as the kick is taken, the free kick will be re-

Three Yard Rule 12) In all dead-ball situations, defending players must stand at least 3 yards away from the ball. If a foul is committed within 3 yards of the defensive player's goal box, the ball shall be placed 3 yards from the goal box, in line with the place of the penalty.

Ball In & Out of Play Touchline/Sideline 13) When the whole of the ball completely crosses over the touchline, it shall be kicked or dribbled back into the game (no throw-ins). The ball must be stationary on the touchline before either is done. The players of the opposing team shall be at least 3 yards away from the spot where the kick-in is being taken. Players taking the kick-in must do so within 4 seconds of taking possession of the ball. If not taken within that time, a direct kick is awarded to the opposing team from that spot. ALL kick- ins are DIRECT. Endline 14) Goalkicks- When the whole of the ball completely crosses the endline and was last touched by the attacking team’s player- a goal kick is rewarded to the defending team a. Goalkicks are taken from anywhere on the endline b. Goalkicks are live once they are touched (kick-ins or dribble-ins again accepted) 15) Corner Kicks- When the whole of the ball completely crosses the endline and was last touched by the defending team’s player, a is rewarded to the attacking team. a. A Goal may be scored directly from a corner kick (Corners are kick-in or dribble-in) b. A corner kick must be taken within 4 seconds of player taking possession of the ball. If not taken within that time- a direct free kick is awarded to the opposing team from that spot. c. Players of the opposing team shall not encroach within 2 yards of the ball until it is in play. Kick-Off 16) To begin the game- the ball will be placed on the center spot and a player from each team will have a foot on the ball. At ref’s whistle, the game is live. 17) After Goals- There will be a kick-off for the team that was scored on. During the kickoff, the opposing team needs to be outside of center circle until it is kicked off and put into play. A kick off in the PCL can go forwards or backwards on the kick, it may not be touched more than once by same player until touched by another player. A goal can be scored directly from a kick-off.

Goal Scoring 18) Goals can only be scored from the attacking half and is up to the discretion of the referee. If the ball scores- it will result in a kick off from the team that gave up the goal at mid-court. If the goal is disallowed due to the shot coming from the defensive half- it will result in a goal kick for the opposing team.

Ball Hits Ceiling 19) If the ball hits the ceiling, the game is restarted by a direct kick awarded to the opposing team in their attacking half. The kick is taken from the top of the 3-point arc nearest their attacking goal. (Anyone breaking a light in the facility may be responsible for paying for that light.)

Frozen Four 4v4 Futsal Indoor Soccer Tournament Rules Delay of Game 20) Any player may be cautioned with a yellow card if it is deemed by the referee that the player is intentionally time wasting. Example: if a player intentionally kicks the ball long distances away from the playing field to waste time.

Player Ejection (Red Card): 21) Per FIFA laws of the game, referees have the right to eject a player from the game for major or malicious infractions and continued violations of the rules. If a player is ejected, they must sit out the next match for their team.

Playoff Games-Overtime 22) If a playoff or final game is still tied following regulation play, the game will be decided by a "sudden victory" shootout. The referee will ensure that each team uses only their four players remaining on the field at the end of regulation play for the shootout. The referee will flip a coin to determine which team kicks first. This is a "sudden victory" shootout. Therefore, if the first penalty kick is made by the first team to kick and the second team misses their first kick, the first team to take penalties wins the game. Only if both teams make or if both teams miss their first kick will the rotation then move on to your team's next penalty shooter. The rotation will continue with the same four shooters alternating teams with each kick, until one of the team scores unanswered. Penalty kicks are taken from the center of the half line.

Bracket Scoring 23) Games will be scored according to the following point system: 3 points for a win, 1 point for a tie, and 0 points for a loss. Both the field marshals and officials will keep and record the score.

Tiebreakers 24) In bracket and round-robin play, ties between two or more teams will be broken by the following system:

1. Head to Head results between tied teams 2. Goal differential (Maximum of 6 goals per game) 3. Goals for 4. Goals against 5. Number of Shutouts 6. Coin Toss

Protests No protests are allowed. All referee decisions are final. The tournament director cannot make a change to a referee's decision. All tournament director decisions are final.

NOTE: GAMES WILL BEGIN AND END AT THE SOUND OF ONE HORN/WHISTLE. WITHIN THE GAME, THE OFFICIAL WILL STOP THE GAME USING HIS/HER WHISTLE. THERE WILL BE NO STOPPAGE OR INJURY TIME ADDED.
