• Council strategic plan includes: • Active lifestyle • Recreation facilities throughout region • Tourism and activities for visitors • A strong and functional Makai Paddlers Society and Mollymook Outriggers Club support this strategy • Junior paddling • Events • Active members • A new shed would strengthen the clubs and ensure more community recreational facilities Paddle Australia letter of support

• Paddle Australia (PA) is the peak sporting body for paddling in Australia • Partners include: • Australian sports commission • Australian Institute of Sport • Australian Olympic Commission. • PA strongly supports the development application as our shed fits with PA strategy

Junior program

• Regular inclusive training sessions • Burril lake from Barker Reserve (~15 years) • Ulladulla Harbour • Recreational events at local businesses and peoples homes • A ‘family’ not a club • A shed would increase access to the sport. Tourism events

• Three annual events • Makai Cup (Ulladulla Harbour) • Lake Lunacy Marathon • Mollymook club annual regatta

• 300 attend each event, most from outside region • 200 people X $200/per person per night for two nights • $80 000 per event in tourist dollars • $240 000 / year into local accommodation • Three weekends a year of full local accommodation (e.g. Big 4 park in Burril Lake)

• Events require equipment. • No formal storage available • A storage shed would assist greatly. Conclusion
