Managing instrument technicians in the preparation of instruments for sterilisation, decontamination and packing. Providing a service for all acute departments within , Golf Links Road and Mt Eliza.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE NURSING AS A CAREER?

I always had a fascination for hospitals and wanted to work in the operating rooms and this type of nursing always appealed to me.

WHAT ARE THE POSITIVE ASPECTS OF YOUR JOB?

Making a difference to the way in which instruments and sterilising is developing now and in the future. Working with dedicated staff that enjoy their work and are adaptable to change. Meeting the challenge in bringing the department to adhere to the Australian Standards and redeveloping the department for future directions

WHAT ARE YOUR FUTURE CAREER PLANS?

To retire in 5 years time having redeveloped the department into a “state-of- the-art unit.”
