Mead House Tarrant Keyneston | Blandford Forum | Dorset | DT11 9JE MEAD HOUSE Mead House sits within a generous plot with an adjoining paddock with river frontage – in total just over 1 acre. KEY FEATURES Mead House sits within a generous plot with an adjoining paddock with river frontage – in total just over one acre. Located in the pretty and desirable village of Tarrant Keyneston which lies in the Tarrant Valley between Blandford Forum to the west and Wimborne Minster to the East, the property has been in its current ownership for the past 10 years and within that time it has undergone a superb refurbishment and extension programme including the addition of a stunning orangery overlooking the rear garden and adjoining paddock. In more recent years, a quality oak framed triple car port and entrance porch has been added to the property which now has an electric gated entrance with pavioured driveway and neatly landscaped grounds throughout. Further works include replacement of the roof just a few years ago and the property has double glazing throughout and oil fired central heating. Private drainage to a septic tank. Internally the property is impeccably and stylishly presented with high quality finishes including stunning floor tiles laid throughout the open plan living space and a superb, high quality kitchen with a generous specification of integrated appliances – everything to meet the requirements for modern day living! Light fronted base and wall units are complemented by dark quartz worktops and a large island unit houses an induction hob with recessed extractor and this theme continues through to the adjoining utility room. An office/ study enjoys privacy, tucked away off the utility room, whilst the triple aspect lounge provides generous space for relaxation off the good size, welcoming entrance hallway. A focal point is created by a contemporary living flame fire fuelled by Ethanol. SELLER INSIGHT It was the location that instantly attracted us when we came to view Mead House for the first time. Set in a quiet and friendly village on a good-sized plot with our own river frontage, it’s just beautiful and everything we need is easily accessible,” say the current owners. “We’ve lived here for over 10 years and we knew that the house had great potential, so we decided to go for a full renovation both inside and out and we’re so happy with the result. I think the biggest change was the addition of the orangery to create an open plan kitchen and living space which makes the most of those amazing views. It’s a great space for day to day family life and entertaining.” “If you love being outdoors and running, walking, cycling or horse riding, then this is the place for you! We’re surrounded by beautiful countryside accessed right from our doorstep and the beaches aren’t too far away either, so there’s plenty to do locally, including National Trust properties to visit. Shops and amenities are easily accessible in nearby Blandford and Wimborne or we can hop in the car and be in London in a couple of hours. The village is super friendly and there’s always lots going on at the village hall, such as the Christmas fair and pantomime, so it’s all there if you want to get involved but there’s no pressure. The village pub is within easy walking distance too where you’re assured of a warm welcome and some tasty food.” “The house and garden are great for entertaining. We’ve celebrated many family birthdays here and we’ll leave with happy memories of our daughter and her friends playing in the garden. It’s a great place to bring up a family. The back of the house is really useful when we have guests as it opens out to the garden and we can wander down to the riverbank with a glass of wine.” “It’s impossible to choose just one favourite room as we use and love them all. The rooms at the front of the house have views over the village, whilst the back of the house looks over the garden and the river, so there’s always something wonderful to look at,” conclude the current owners.* * These comments are the personal views of the current owner and are included as an insight into life at the property.
