Today, TaylorMade Golf announces that it has again strengthened its professional team with the signing of 5-time European Tour winner Tommy Fleetwood. Recognised as one of the game’s elite ball strikers, Fleetwood will play TaylorMade clubs and the company’s flagship golf ball franchise, TP5. This could be the start of something special. I have a feeling there are some exciting times ahead, I couldn’t be happier to join Team TaylorMade. — Tommy Fleetwood On the international stage, Fleetwood is widely known for his stellar play in major championships and unforgettable Ryder Cup heroics. The 30-year-old turned professional in 2010 and over the course of his career has amassed three top-5 finishes in major championships and six top 20s – including a runner up at the 2018 U.S. Open at Shinnecock where he shot a final-round 63, matching the lowest round in U.S. Open history. Later that year, Fleetwood played a central role in Europe’s dominant Ryder Cup performance. He finished the week at Le Golf National in Paris, France, with a record of 4-1-0 as he led his team to a 17 ½ to 10 ½ victory – handing the U.S. one of its worst losses in the event’s 93-years. Career highlights: Amateur wins: 2009 Scottish Open Strokeplay, 2010 English Amateur Champion European Tour: five European Tour wins, 2013 Johnnie Walker Championship, Abu Dhabi Championship 2017 and 2018, plus two Rolex Series events 2017 Open de France and 2019 Nedbank Challenge, as well as the Race to Dubai Champion in 2017 Team: Ryder Cup 2018 he went 4-1-0 winning 4/4 fourball and foursome matches with Molinari Other: Tommy has also had three Top 5s in the majors, two Top 5s in WGCs and a Top 5 at THE PLAYERS in 2019 Fleetwood’s relationship with TaylorMade runs deep. Trenham 2010 to 2017 2010 In November Leo DeGisi was sworn in for a second three-year term as a PGA of America director. 2011 The Section celebrated its 90th birthday and Rich Steinmetz won the Section Championship for a third time. 2012 Stu Ingraham won the Section Championship, Sr. Championship, Player-of-the-Year, points and scoring average. 2013 Harry Hammond won the PGA Bill Strausbaugh Award, Mark Sheftic was on the PGA Cup Team for a 3rd time. 2014 Lou Guzzi-teaching, Rick Kline-merchandising and Scott Nye-merchandising were honored with national awards. 2015 The Philadelphia Cricket Club hosted the PGA Professional National Championship. 2016 In November Tom Carpus was elevated to chairman of the PGA of America rules committee. 2017 Dave McNabb played in three majors: Senior PGA Championship, U.S. Senior Open, PGA Championship 2010 A new decade began with the country in a deep recession and the business of golf was in just as deep. There were more golf courses than there were golfers. Definitely, there were too many golf professionals. Some golf courses were closing which was the best for the business in general but difficult for the employees. One golf writer stated that for the first time more golfers were on waiting lists to get out of clubs in the United States that there were waiting to get into clubs. In January the PGA made some changes to the apprentice program. One of those was that all applicants to the apprentice program would have to complete three online courses and pass a knowledge course before being al- lowed to register in the program.

    The 2021 Justin Rose Telegraph Junior Golf Championship Launches Date : 06-04-2021 The Telegraph today launched the Justin Rose Telegraph Junior Golf Championship 2021, which is again sponsored by Justin Rose MBE. It was also announced that this year’s final of the Championship is to be held at the prestigious Walton Heath Golf Club. The decision was made by organisers to move the climax of this year’s championship from host and sponsor Quinta do Lago in Portugal to Walton Heath to avoid any potential complications arising from coronavirus related travel restrictions. Walton Heath staged the 2018 British Masters hosted by Justin Rose on the European Tour in 2018, The Ryder Cup in 1981, The Senior Open presented by Rolex in 2011 and will, in 2023, host the AIG Women’s Open. The Club will welcome the 12 best junior girls and 12 best junior boys at the final from Tuesday October 5 - Friday October 8 this year. The 24 golfers will qualify for the Justin Rose Telegraph Junior Golf Championship – which is supported by The R&A, European Tour and England Golf – via qualifying events hosted by golf clubs across the UK from March to August. In addition to the 24 finalists, six net winners will also qualify for a very special three days at Walton Heath.
