House parents and residential tutors provide pastoral and wellbeing care for every pupil. In addition to the teaching and House staff, the Sixth Form Tutor provides another layer of support, part pastoral and part academic.

We are blessed with highly experienced and dedicated Sixth Form Tutors. Tutors are charged with guiding their 12 or so tutees through the last two years at Loretto.

Each tutorial group combines both Lower and Upper Sixth Formers, adding to the sense of a more general Sixth Form community. These groups meet daily at Registration before lessons, supplemented by regular one-to-one tutorials where more individual-based matters are raised and dealt with.

Sandy Meldrum and Simon McKerrell: both graduates of the Scottish Music course at the RSAMD in Glasgow. They are now successful performers and recording artists and Simon is Professor of Piping at RSAMD.
