Hobson's Choice is a British romantic comedy film directed by David Lean. The film also features Prunella Scales in one of her first cinema roles as Vicky. Willie Mossop John Mills is a gifted but unappreciated bootmaker employed by the tyrannical Henry Horatio Hobson Charles Laughton in Hobsons Choice moderately upmarket shop in Salford in Lancashire. They go to Peel Park to arrange it, and Willie says he is already engaged to the daughter of his landlady. Maggie goes to his house to embarrassingly resolve the issue.
