If you've ever downloaded an app on the iPhone or iPad you'll feel right at home downloading—and re-downloading—apps on the new Apple TV. There are, however, a few differences that are worth noting. How to download apps on the Apple TV. The easiest way to download apps on the Apple TV is right from the Featured section. Launch the App Store app from your Home screen. Make sure you're on the Featured tab. If you want to learn more about an app before deciding, you can access the full description. Swipe up to highlight the description . Once you've downloaded the app you want, you can just launch it from your Home screen. Swipe up, down, left, or right on the touchpad to get the app you want to launch. Click on the app to launch it. How to re-download apps. If you've already bought an app, or if a developer has made an Apple TV version of one of your iPhone or iPad apps available as a "universal purchase", you'll find them in your Purchased tab. Launch the App Store app from your Home screen. Swipe over to the Purchased tab. Navigate to an app you want to download. Click on the app icon . Click the Download from iCloud button to restore the purchase. It's early days on the Apple TV App Store and so there aren't any Category or Top Charts to check out yet. That means if an app isn't in the main Featured section, the only way to find it is to search. Launch the App Store app from your Home screen. Swipe over to the Search tab. Swipe down to the virtual keyboard. Start entering the name of the app you want to find. Swipe to the app you want to download as soon as you see it. Click on the app icon . Click on Get for free (or free with in-app purchase) apps, or the price for paid apps. Click Buy to confirm. There's also a list of apps trending in search, so if you're looking for a popular app, you might find it right there. More on Apple TV apps and games. You can also download apps using promo codes, though not directly. And once you've downloaded or re-downloaded an app, you can move it around and even delete it if you want. Watch Apple TV+ Original TV shows and movies. When you subscribe to Apple TV+, you can watch Apple Original TV shows and movies and other exclusive content on all of your devices. Sign out of the Apple TV app on a smart TV, streaming device, or game console. Open the Apple TV app. Go to Settings. Select Accounts, then choose Sign Out. Reset the Apple TV app to its original settings. This will sign you out of your account on that device and remove your personal information. If you're also signed in to the Apple Music app on your smart TV or streaming device, the Apple Music app will also be reset to its original settings and all of your personal information will be removed. On your smart TV, streaming device, or game console, open the Apple TV app or Apple Music app. Go to Settings. On your smart TV or streaming device, choose "Reset Apple TV app and Apple Music," then confirm your choice. On your game console, choose "Reset Apple TV app." Sign out of a smart TV, streaming device, or game console that you can't access. If you're signed in to the Apple TV app on a smart TV, streaming device, or game console that you can't access, you can remove the device from your account list. If you need help. From original shows to movies and documentaries, Netflix is the home to some of the best streaming-native content there is. Films that intended a theatrical release during the COVID-19 Pandemic but were made available through commercial streaming on an Academy approved Qualifying SVOD/VOD platform. OR B. A minimum of four (4) screenings in a regular commercial theatre to a paying audience in at least ONE of the following cities: Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax, Montreal, Ottawa, Quebec City, ​ Saskatoon, St. John’s, Toronto, Vancouver, Victoria, and Winnipeg. OR C. Acceptance to an Academy Approved Qualifying Canadian Film Festival along with a release on at least one approved Qualifying VOD/SVOD platform (as specified on the academy.ca/awards website). 1.3. Short Films Eligibility: 2021 Canadian Screen Awards 1. COMMERCIAL SCREENINGS: ​ Short Films Only - During the period of January 1, 2020 through April 30, 2021, a minimum of one (1) ​ ​ ​ theatrical screening to a paying audience other than a festival; or, a commercial release on one of the Academy approved SVOD/VOD platforms. OR 2. FESTIVALS SCREENINGS Animated Shorts and Live Action Short Drama - During the period of January 1, 2020 through April ​ ​ ​ 30, 2021, acceptance into at least two (2) Academy approved Canadian film festivals. ​ OR 1 3. INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL SCREENINGS: During the period of January 1, 2020 through April 30, 2021, winner of a “Best of” or comparable ​ ​ distinction decided upon by a jury at an Academy approved International Festival or comparable award of distinction.
