The buildings are connected creating an internal courtyard allowing you to enjoy views of the topiary garden and contemporary koi pond as you walk around this beautiful home. The design has focused as much on the outside as internal layout. The concept has been to create a sanctuary offering complete privacy whilst enjoying the changing English seasons, offering opportunities both for quiet reflection and also areas for large social gatherings with family and friends. -

WALKS IN KIMPTON PARISH WALK 1 KIMPTON TO AYOT ST LAWRENCE HISTORIC WALK 8.5km/5ml circular walk on footpaths with lots of historic interest. Stiles. Approx time : 2 hours Refreshments : The White Horse Pub & The Boot, Kimpton; The Brocket Arms, Ayot St Lawrence Park on High Street, near the Recreation Ground – grid ref: TL177184 Walk up Church Lane. Go through the churchyard with the church on your left. The church is open during the day, so please pop in and have a look round. Go through the gate at the other end of the churchyard on to Hitchin Road. Walk up this sometimes busy road – TAKE GREAT CARE – cross over carefully where the road bends to the right to go up Hoo Road. This is marked Private Road, but is a public right of way. Very infrequent traffic. In summer this road is lined with field scabious and knapweed attracting bees and butterflies on sunny days. At the top you will come to a line of sweet chestnut trees (look out for edible chestnuts in the Autumn). Turn right after the first tree through a kissing gate and take the left of the 2 paths (marked Hertfordshire Way). Walk across the field with the old cricket pavilion on your left. This pavilion was originally thatched and was sited in the Recreation Ground. It was moved to its present site in the late 1940’s where it is used by private clubs, including some celebrities! Go straight on through the kissing gate. The path runs next to the fence but is often overgrown. -

12/06/202017:34:00 Dear Mr. Haigh, Potential Plot-Land Development
12/06/202017:34:00 31a Church Street Welwyn HERTS AL6 9LW www.cpreherts.org.uk [email protected] 01438 717587 Standing up for Hertfordshire’s countryside Mr . Colin Haigh Our Ref: Head of Planning Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council Your Ref: Campus East Welwyn Garden City Herts. AL10 6AE 12th June 2020 (by email) Dear Mr. Haigh, Potential Plot-land Development, Digswell Park Road We are writing to advise you of potential plot-land development on the fields between Digswell Park Road and Hertford Road. The land in question is pasture land to the north of Digswell Park Road, within the Green Belt and immediately adjacent to the Grade II* listed Digswell Viaduct. Earlier this year the landowner entered into a contract to sell this land (and allegedly the adjoining field to the south of Digswell Park Road). The land has subsequently been subdivided into plots, of which three have been sold and the remainder due for auction on 23 June. The purchaser, Country Land Conservation, a company registered in Ireland, state on their website that “Our main objectives with pasture and arable land once acquired is returning them to wildflower meadows. … We do have finances to compete with other developers who would look to acquire rural sites for development. The CLC’s actions with these pieces of lands can vary, the main importance would be to halt a possibility for development.” Consequently, it is puzzling that their agent is now advertising the plots as “the parcels offer an excellent opportunity for a number of potential uses along with future potential for development. -
