Digital India

Digital India is a programme based on technology with a vision to transform India to a digitally empowered society and a knowledge economy. It ensures the government’s services are made available to citizens electronically. It was launched in July 2015, by Prime Minister .

To realize the objectives, the programme has established an ecosystem comprised of several Ministries and government departments, initiatives which are coordinated by the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY). The program also includes plans to connect rural areas with high-speed internet networks.

Digital India consists of 3 core components: the development of secure and stable digital infrastructure, delivering government services digitally, and universal digital literacy. Limited [BBNL] which executes the ‘Bharat Net Project’ is the custodian of the digital India Project. Some of the facilities which are provided though this project are digital locker, e-education, e-health, e-sign, e-shopping, and national scholarship portal.

Some other government services include:

• mygove.in – It is a platform to share inputs and ideas on matters of policy and governance. • UMANG – It includes services such as , Bharat bill payment system, PAN, EPFO, , Passport, etc. • mobile app is being used by people and government organizations for achieving the goals of Swachh Bharath mission. • Digital attendance keeps a record of the attendance of government employees.

There are many other services included like this. India is the highest rate of the addition of the internet community anywhere of the internet community anywhere in the world. For this transformation, the digital India program will aid in getting the works done. Let’s all help our government to develop India digitally…! JAI HIND…!
