Through a Catholic Christian ethos, we aim to provide an atmosphere of dignity and respect for each member of our college community. St. Joseph’s College aims to: • Foster an environment which enables students to develop as mature young Christians whose Catholic faith is expressed in their everyday lives. • Provide a broad and balanced curriculum which will maximise the potential of each individual student and therefore develop confidence and self esteem. • Ensure that arrangements for pastoral care are integrated with, and reflected in, the day to day learning and teaching. • Encourage parents/carers to take an active part in the education of their children and life of the college. • Report to parents/carers on the progress of their child/children on a regular basis. • Create opportunities whereby students can develop an interest in, and an involvement with, the wider community. Nine out of ten of these are teaching St. Joseph’s College is committed to meeting the individual needs of every student who enrols in the periods and the remaining one is the lunch break. We have a split lunch time and Year 8 attend first school regardless of their perceived ability. All students follow the same curriculum but it is adapted lunch along with Years 9 and 10. The school day begins with Form Class at 9.05am and classes finish at within the classroom to meet individual learning needs. 3.15pm. However, extra-curricular activities then normally continue until 4.15pm. Since joining St. Joseph’s, I have met so many people and made numerous great friends.
