Khenchen Namdrol Rinpoche to Give a Discourse on Buddha Nature at Bangalore PRLog - Global Press Release Distribution Khenchen Namdrol Rinpoche to give a discourse on Buddha Nature at Bangalore Khenchen Namdrol Rinpoche, one of the foremost living scholars of Nyingma tradition of Tibetan Buddhism delivering a two day discourse on the Buddha Nature. He will explain the nature of mind according to the final turning of the Buddha's teaching. Nov. 24, 2009 - PRLog -- Thubten Lekshey Ling Tibetan Buddhist Meditation Centre (http://www.lekshey.org) is organizing a 2-day discourse by Khenchen Namdrol Rinpoche. The discourse will cover the topic of Buddha Nature in depth. It will be conducted at Ashirvad, 30, St. Mark Road Cross, Opposite SBI, St. Marks Road, Bangalore on November 28th and 29th. The first part on the 28th will be from 3pm till 6pm. The second part will on the 29th from 10am to 6pm. Buddha taught about sugata garbha, roughly translated as Buddha-nature, in the third and final turning of the wheel of Dharma. Having taught and set the wheel in motion through the four noble truths in the first turning and emptiness in the second turning, the most definitive and the most sublime Dharma of the Buddha nature was introduced in the third turning. This is also regarded as the bridge between Sutra and Tantra. To put it simply, the original nature of our mind, the Buddha-nature, is clear and luminous. It is utterly open, free and limitless. It naturally possesses qualities of perfect awakening. By not realizing it, we grasp on to projections and create suffering. However, many question on this are complex and leads to philosophical debates among various interpreters of the Buddha. Is Buddha-nature a seed of enlightenment? Or, is it the Buddha within us? Is it the true self? What are the qualities innate to the Buddha-nature? If Buddha-nature is our nature, where are afflictions coming from? Why is a spiritual journey essential to see our own nature? in his discourse, Khenchen Namdrol Rinpoche will go into these and many other difficult points and will be explaining them. Khenchen Namdrol Rinpoche is one of the three Khenchens (great abbots) overseeing the education at the Ngagyur Nyingma University at Namdroling Monastery. In 1998, he established the Palyul Three Year Retreat Centre in Pharping, Nepal. Rigpa Shedra, an advanced Buddhist study programme for international students, runs in Nepal under his guidance. He is known for his mastery of the study and practice of Vajrakilaya and is considered the foremost teacher of the Guhyagarbha Tantra, the root tantra of Nyingma Mahayoga. He has studied with and received transmissions from many renowned masters and teachers, such as H.H. Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, H.H. Penor Rinpoche, Kyabje Dodrupchen Rinpoche, Nyoshul Khenpo, Dzogchen Khenpo Tsöndru, Khenpo Rinchen, and Khenpo Dazer. In search of deeper teachings on the Tantra, he travelled back to Tibet. There he met and discovered an extremely close connection with H.H. Khenpo Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche of Serthar Institute from whom he received many teachings. Khenchen now spends much of his time at the Retreat Centre in Nepal, as well as teaching abroad and at the Ngagyur Nyingma University. The program is free of charges and open for all. Those who wish to attend need to confirm their participation by email to [email protected] or by phone to 98802-96930. # # # Thubten Lekshey Ling is a Tibetan Buddhist Meditation & Study Centre at Bangalore founded by His Holiness Penor Rinpoche, the former head of Nyingma tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. • Dolpo Tulku Sherab Zangpo
DOLPO TULKU SHERAB ZANGPO Dolpo Tulku, also called Tulku Sherab Zangpo, was born into a Lama family in Dho Tarap, Dolpo, in 1982. He became a monk at Kanying Shedrub Ling Monastery, Nepal, at the age of 9 in 1991 and was recognized by Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche to be the reincarnation of the third Dolpo Nyingchung Drubthob shortly thereafter. He was then sent to Namdroling Monastery, India, to receive his monastic education under the guidance of Penor Rinpoche. 1994 the Dolpo People’s Welfare Association sponsored his grand official enthronement ceremony at Shechen Monastery, Kathmandu, in the midst of more than ten thousand natives from Dolpo and adjacent regions. Hence he got the responsibility to guide the three main monasteries, three retreat centers and the people of Dolpo. Whilst studying tantric rites and rituals in the monastery, he assumed the responsibility of a Vajracharya. In 1997, when he was just 15 years old, he entered Nyingma Ngagyur Institute, the prestigious monastic college of Namdroling Monastery where he studied, debated and researched all the sutra and tantra teachings of Lord Buddha for ten years under more than forty scholars and masters including His Holiness Penor Rinpoche. He also studied Tibetan literature, Poetry, Tibetan History and Tibetan Religious History. He secured first division marks in all examinations. Owing to the high scholarship and experience, he was appointed junior teacher and a member of the Rigdzod Editorial Committee whilst an eighth year student. Penor Rinpoche instructed him in the practices of the Namchö Cycle, which combines the practices of Mahamudra and Dzogchen. Dolpo Tulku Rinpoche now teaches the instructions according to his students abilities.

  • Guru Padmasambhava
Guru Padmasambhava Guru Padmasambhava From the heart of Buddha Amitabha, light rays radiated into the bud of a lotus on Danakosha lake. Upon its ripening, appeared an amazing child, adorned with the major and minor marks sitting atop a thousand petalled lotus. Glorious Guru Padmasambhava, please protect and guide me until I attain complete enlightenment. Inseparable from the Primordial Buddha Samantabhadra, the all-pervading Lord of the three jewels of Buddha, Dharma and Sangha, and master of the three roots of lama, yidam, and dakini, the glorious Guru Padmasambhava should be definitively understood as being the essence of Buddha Amitabha. In order to propagate and spread the teachings of the Dharma in general, and particularly the secret mantra and Dzogchen teachings, he appears to every being of the three thousand billion world systems in a form to benefit them according to their personal karmic vision. In this way Guru Padmasambhava has countless unimaginable biographies, one biography for each being. Although that is the definitive biography of Guru Padmasambhava, the historical figure Guru Padmasambhava’s life-story as known to the common disciples is as follows. When the time for Guru Rinpoche to liberate the beings of this world approached, on the tenth day of the sixth month of the Monkey year, he appeared miraculously in the blossom of a lotus in the lake called “Ocean of Milk” in South West Odiyana, which is also known as Lake Danakosha located on the Afghanistan-Pakistan frontier. However there are different interpretations regarding his birth. Some Indian historians affirm that he was born to a minister or a King of Odiyana, and some claim that he appeared instantaneously on the summit of Mt.
