The Academy "Pump It Up"

There is something for everyone at 'The Academy', as it offers a large variety of music types. It has state-of-the-art sound system called "L Acoustics". With the place vertically expanded to 4 floors, the main room can accommodate 650 people and the upper balcony another set of 200 people. 'The Green Room' holds live performances, mainly electronic acts by KTM Notes and DJs. 'The Academy 2' at the basement is perfect for smaller bands, comedy shows and music album launches. And 'The Chamber' is a private VIP room which has swanky leather couches and exclusive waitress assistance.

The National Concert Hall "All Things Classical"

The National Concert Hall sits imposingly close to St Stephen's Green. This large building was formerly home to University College Dublin but became the city's main concert venue in 1981. There are two halls. The acoustics in the main auditorium are not the best by any means, but the John Field Room next door offers better sound and a more intimate by Smirkybec setting. The Hall attracts the best of classical performers to the city. The fine National Symphony Orchestra and National Concert Orchestra also perform here regularly. If you don't have time for an evening performance, you might be able to squeeze in a lunchtime recital at this attractive and comfortable venue.

Bord Gáis Energy Theatre "Cultural Kaleidoscope"

An architecturally and culturally iconic venue in the city, the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre (formerly Grand Canal Theatre) is the brainchild of Mike Adamson, CEO of LiveNation. The need for such a theater arose because numerous international theater groups were yearning to perform in the city, but save for the O2, there wasn't a venue prominent enough to host by William Murphy them, and the O2 couldn't accommodate all of the performances in its schedule. Thus, an initiative for another first-rate theater was taken, and with the approval of the Dublin Dockyards Development Authority, the construction of the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre began in 2007. Opened in March 2010, this theater has hosted a passel of cultural events, including ballets, plays, operas, concerts and much more. With a capacity of 2111, this is one of the premier venues for major events in the city.

The space that occupies 3Arena has changed names and ownership quite a few times, it was earlier known as The Point Theater which closed in 2007 to make way for The O2 in 2008; post-2014, The O2 was sponsored by O2's rival Three Ireland and hence the 3Arena was born. A stunning hot spot in Dublin's music scene, 3Arena is managed by Live Nation and it by Chris Yunker has played host to huge acts like Counting Crows, Kings of Leon and Beyonce. The arena boasts of a seating capacity of 9500 which can be stretched to 13,000 (standing). Magnificent lighting, larger-than-life interior and impeccable acoustics put 3Arena on the international map along with counterparts like The O2 (London) and Rod Laver Arena (Melbourne). There is plenty of food available so your hunger's always in check while good beers keep you in high spirits. It is not difficult to spot the 3Arena in Dockland Developments, just follow the acoustic trail and you will be home.
