Knowing we were having a Choir Master to talk to us we expected to have to sing solo in front of all our friends. No such thing! Lesley Banks (Choir master of the Cat's Whiskers of Upper Woolhampton) was a lovely, funny and wonderful lady. She told us the history of her career then took us through some breathing exercises. We then warmed up with some scales to “We are, we are, we are. we are, we are the WI”. She then formed us into groups of 4 or more and gave us some silly song to sing. We ended the evening singing the silly songs in the round. Stuart must have wondered what was happening as WI meetings are usually quiet, but there we were - raising the roof and singing our hearts out. What a wonderful meeting! We went home in good spirit. Our next meetings Tuesday 17 December – Our Christmas Party Tuesday 21 January – An evening with Rob Bone, a local magician If anyone would like to come along and join us for an evening of Christmas fare, carols and games do get in touch with Sheila Jay.
