    PRESS RELEASE FRIDAY 14 SEPTEMBER THE OLD VIC SEASON 4: PART 2 Matthew Warchus’ fourth season as Artistic Director of The Old Vic completes with an Arthur Miller double-bill, a World Premiere by Lucy Prebble and a special One Voice performance. These productions form Part 2 of the season, and follow the previously announced Part 1 consisting of ZooNation: The Kate Prince Company’s production of SYLVIA; Annie-B Parson’s 17c; Emma Rice’s Wise Children; and A Christmas Carol – for which today we also announce further casting. • Visionary director Rachel Chavkin makes her Old Vic debut directing Arthur Miller’s The American Clock from 4 February • Jeremy Herrin directs Sally Field, Bill Pullman, Jenna Coleman and Colin Morgan in Arthur Miller’s American classic All My Sons in a co-production with Headlong from 15 April • Closing the season is A Very Expensive Poison – a new play by Lucy Prebble based on the book by Luke Harding • A special One Voice performance to mark 100 years since the Armistice, Remembrance curated by Arinzé Kene and directed by Annabel Bolton • Further casting is announced for Jack Thorne’s version of A Christmas Carol directed by Matthew Warchus and starring Stephen Tompkinson as Ebenezer Scrooge. Coming soon: • A musical adaptation of the hit 1983 film, Local Hero, adapted by David Greig and Bill Forsyth, directed by John Crowley and with music and lyrics by Mark Knopfler, will come to The Old Vic in June 2020 following its world premiere at the Royal Lyceum Theatre Edinburgh in 2019. From The Old Vic: • Girl from the North Country opens on 1 October at the Public Theater, New York, and performances have been extended until 9 December.

    Issue No 175 Friday 22nd June 2018 The Principal’s Update What a wonderfully busy, bustling day it has been at Howell's. Next year's Year 7 cohort joined us for the day, making new friends, enjoying lunch and immersing themselves in Senior School life. The girls all seemed to have a fantastic day, and went home exhausted but still smiling. I am looking forward to welcoming them back in September. GCSEs came to an end this week and we went Back to Basics at Howell’s. I have been delighted by the response from students, and have never seen such shining, polished shoes, neatly tied hair or smartly pressed skirts. Many thanks to Mrs Chyba and all the staff and students who made the week such a success. On Wednesday evening, I very much enjoyed our Parent Pyramid Social in the Hub @ Howell’s. It was lovely to chat informally with Junior School, Senior School and College parents over a glass of wine and canapés and fill them in about future initiatives and events coming up at Howell’s. As your daughter moves through the Senior School and then into the College, it can become rare for you to spend time with their friends' parents. These informal events give everyone the opportunity to meet other Howell's parents, from right across the school. Yesterday evening we opened our GCSE and A-level Art Exhibition, showcasing the fantastic work our students have created. There is so much artistic talent in our school nurtured by Mrs Eddy and the rest of the Art department, and there are some incredible pieces in the exhibition.

    CAST BIOS TOM RILEY (Leonardo da Vinci) Tom has been seen in a variety of TV roles, recently portraying Dr. Laurence Shepherd opposite James Nesbitt and Sarah Parish in ITV1’s critically acclaimed six-part medical drama series “Monroe.” Tom has completed filming the highly anticipated second season which premiered autumn 2012. In 2010, Tom played the role of Gavin Sorensen in the ITV thriller “Bouquet of Barbed Wire,” and was also cast in the role of Mr. Wickham in the ITV four-part series “Lost in Austen,” alongside Hugh Bonneville and Gemma Arterton. Other television appearances include his roles in Agatha Christie’s “Poirot: Appointment with Death” as Raymond Boynton, as Philip Horton in “Inspector Lewis: And the Moonbeams Kiss the Sea” and as Dr. James Walton in an episode of the BBC series “Casualty 1906,” a role that he later reprised in “Casualty 1907.” Among his film credits, Tom played the leading roles of Freddie Butler in the Irish film Happy Ever Afters, and the role of Joe Clarke in Stephen Surjik’s British Comedy, I Want Candy. Tom has also been seen as Romeo in St Trinian’s 2: The Legend of Fritton’s Gold alongside Colin Firth and Rupert Everett and as the lead role in Santiago Amigorena’s A Few Days in September. Tom’s significant theater experiences originate from numerous productions at the Royal Court Theatre, including “Paradise Regained,” “The Vertical Hour,” “Posh,” “Censorship,” “Victory,” “The Entertainer” and “The Woman Before.” Tom has also appeared on stage in the Donmar Warehouse theatre’s production of “A House Not Meant to Stand” and in the Riverside Studios’ 2010 production of “Hurts Given and Received” by Howard Barker, for which Tom received outstanding reviews and a nomination for best performance in the new Off West End Theatre Awards.
